Deck Fix: Spellcaster - Master of Shadows

Hello, everyone. I have a deck fix for you, again. This time, we have a Spellcaster deck. This should be interesting, so let's get to it, shall we?

Hey,
i've been playing the yu-gi-oh trading card game with my mates for about a year now and i've finally decided to create a themed deck and not just a mix deck. I recently bought the "Spellcasters Judgement" structure deck so I'm going for that theme. This is what i have right now:

Monsters = 22
Dark magician x 2
Gemini elf
Skilled dark magician x 2
Apprentice magician
Chaos command magician
Royal magic library x 3
Rapid Fire Magician
Gravekeepers spy
Gravekeepers guard x 3
Magical marionette
Kycoo the ghost destroyer
Old vindictive magician
Spirit reaper
Silent magician level 4
Silent magician level 8
Magical Plant Mandragola

Spells = 21
Mystical space typhoon
Premature burial
Swords of revealing light
Mage power
Diffusion wave motion
Dark magic attack
Spell absorption x 2
Lightning vortex
Magical dimension x 2
Nightmare steelcage
Book of moon
Giant trunade
Monster reborn
Scapegoat
Fissure
Spell reflector
Soul exchange
Rush recklessly
Different dimension capsule

Traps = 11
Pitch black power stone
Divine Wrath x 2
Magic Cylinder
Magicians circle
Shadow spell
Dust tornado x 2
Royal decree
Torrential tribute
Cursed seal of the forbidden spell

I only play with 3 of my friends so i have and would like to structure my deck around their decks also. here they are and a little description about them:
1. Zombie Theme - his deck is aim is bringing things back from his graveyard and he likes to use a lot of low level monsters that have great effect (Medusa worm, Swarm of scarabs)
2. Dinosaur theme - his deck is pretty much the structure deck with a few other cards that he threw in that work well with his deck. his aim is to bring out very high attack monsters and then keep them alive.
3. Removal Theme - The dark emporer structure deck, hate this theme, enough said......

The main problem is defence, playing 4 vs. 4 can be really hard on my deck because my defence doesn't last long enough and isn't much of a threat. i can be left wide open for 2 or 3 turns with the nasty mixture of effects, high attack and play removal against me. and the last thing is that a few weeks ago (the day my structure deck arrived, before opening) we went to tournament forbidden card lists. once i opened my new deck and checked for forbidden cards i soon realised that it had been ripped apart. and sadly and thankfully (in someway, lol) we are sticking to the tournament forbidden cards, so could you take this into consideration.

Very grateful,
I hope this is a challenge for you.

Al

Okay. A Spellcaster deck. A friend of mine loves using them, and I constantly (and I mean that literally) help him fix his deck. (He always reverts it back to what it was because he doesn't like what I did and then wonders why I always beat him, but that's another story for another day.) This should be something similar.

First, we perform a magician's trick - we make things disappear:

- 1 Gemini Elf

- 1 Chaos Command Magician

- 3 Royal Magical Library

- 1 Rapid-Fire Magician

- 1 Gravekeeper's Spy

- 3 Gravekeeper's Guard

- 1 Magical Marionette

- 1 Silent Magician LV4

- 1 Silent Magician LV8

- 1 Magical Plant Mandragola

- 1 Mage Power

- 1 Diffusion Wave-Motion

- 2 Spell Absorption

- 1 Nightmare's Steelcage

- 1 Giant Trunade

- 1 Scapegoat

- 1 Fissure

- 1 Magic Reflector

- 1 Soul Exchange

- 1 Rush Recklessly

- 1 Different Dimension Capsule

- 1 Pitch Black Power Stone

- 1 Magic Cylinder

- 1 Shadow Spell

- 1 Royal Decree

- 1 Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell

I cut 14 monsters, 12 Spells, and 5 Traps, 31 cards total from the 53 cards that were in here, leaving you with 22 cards and leaving me with room for 18-20 cards in here. Everything dropped really did nothing for the deck. I can't explain everything, but pretty much mostly everything was slowing the deck down. Let's add a few things to this.

Cards to make appear:

+ 1 Dark Magician of Chaos

+ 1 Dark Magician

+ 2 Double Coston

+ 1 Skilled Dark Magician

+ 2 Apprentice Magician

+ 2 Crystal Seer

+ 2 Old Vindictive Magician

+ 1 Dedication through Light and Darkness

+ 1 Lightning Vortex

+ 1 Heavy Storm

+ 1 Magical Dimension

+ 3 Solemn Judgment / Dark Bribe

I added 18 cards, bringing you to 40. Perfect. I added the Apprentice Magician engine here for Tribute bait (and for Magical Dimension) as well as for the Crystal Seer (draw power) and Old Vindictive Magician (monster removal). Double Coston is to ease summoning Dark Magician and Dark Magician of Chaos. Dedication through Light and Darkness also helps. Lightning Vortex for more monster removal. Heavy Storm for Spell / Trap removal. Magical Dimension for a bit of swarming power. Solemn Judgment / Dark Bribe for a bit of protection.

I did what I could for this. I can't guarantee anything. Have fun with it. If things still don't seem to work out for you, then try changing your playing style.

Questions, comments, suggestions, etc. can be sent to darkdestructionv30@yahoo.com

Until next time....
