Deck Fix: Gadgets (Part 2) - Daniel

Hello everyone!

It’s Daniel again. I back today to talk about Mohammad’s fixed gadget deck from my last article. I didn’t get a chance to talk about it since I wanted to focus on fixing the deck last time. Today, I will be talking about the deck as well as adding a side deck to it. Finally, after I talked about the deck, I want to also tell all of you about what I will post for my next article. So let’s get started.

First, I will be talking about the gadget deck. Here is the decklist from last time for those of you that haven’t seen my deck fix yet: (Note – This decklist includes a side deck. I did not post a side deck when I fixed the deck last time.)

You should know by now that the goal of the deck is to summon as many gadgets as possible to the field, destroy everything on the opponent’s field, and then attack with all of your monsters for the win. I will be talking about the main deck first.

First up are the monsters. This deck packs more monsters than a regular gadget deck. The gadgets are the stars of the deck, allowing you to search for another gadget when one of them is summoned to the field from your deck. Giant Rats are there to help you special summon gadgets to the field from your deck, as well as giving you another monster into your hand when they’re special summon, making it a 2 for 1. Mole is there since it not only can be special summoned by Rat, but can also blow your opponent’s monsters back into their hand. Cool.

Jinzo, Drillroid, Breaker, Trooper, Hunter, and Cyber Dragon are standard to tournament decks these days, but Cyber Phoenix adds protection to your machines as well as drawing you a card when it’s destroyed by battle. Finally, Crystal Seer adds a card to your hand of you choice from the top 2 cards of your deck, and Faith lets you reuse those fallen spells that you already used.

Next are the spells. Most of these spells are standard in tournament decks these days, but the four cards I will explain are Limiter, Shrink, Lighting Vortex, and Shield Crush. Limiter allows you to double your machines’ ATK for the turn, but they are destroyed at the end of the turn. However, it fills up your graveyard with monsters for Pot, and it’s good when you only have weak machines on the field. Also, Shrink can surprise your opponent as he/she just watches their monsters get destroy by your weak monsters, even if you monster’s ATK is very low. Finally, Vortex and Crush are there to remove monsters from your opponent’s field so they you can keep attacking their life points directly.

Last are the Traps. Ultimate Offering lets you summon all of your gadgets to the field in one turn, which makes this deck a gadget OTK deck since you just summon one gadget and get another one from your deck, and so on. Armor destroys attacking monsters that are too strong for you to deal with, and Bottomless does the same thing but when they are summoned. Finally, Trap Dustshoot returns strong monsters back to your opponent’s deck from their hand, focusing them to waste their time trying to get them back.

The side deck was built to counter against popular decks that you will most likely be facing, as well as help the deck out. Mask and Rug stop Monarchs, Banisher and Crow stop Zombies, Wombat stops burn, and Return stops Cosmos. However, you may notice Wishes and Puppeteer in the side deck. I’ve included them since they let you recover the life points you’re losing so fast to Offering. Plus, if you happen to have Puppeteer and Offering in play, you will be allowed to summon your monsters for free, since you are recovering the life points you paid for Offering with Puppeteer. Finally, Call is there in case you need more monster revival in your deck.

There you go everyone. That is a quick summery about Mohammed’s Gadget deck. Now, I have three more things to say before I leave again.

First off is that from now on, if I find time to talk about the fixed decks that I post, I will talk about them. If not, I will just post my own deck ideas or card combos in the article that follows it. I have a bunch of them to share with everyone. Plus, I think you’ll enjoy them.

The next thing is about the card combo rulings. I have changed my mind and decided to start having card combos, but I would like to make it into a contest. I’ll have more information about the contest and the rules for it in a future article. Plus, I would like to show all of you my own card combos. I will be during them next month.

Finally, I wanted to talk about my deck fixes a little bet. Since I keep on getting decks that don’t follow the rules that I posted on Jan. 1, 2008, I would like to change the rules a little bet as well as also have a deck fix contest with all of you. I will also have more information about that in future articles. Until then, continue following the rules for my deck fixes that was posted on Jan 1, 2008 until I change them.

That about finishes up this article everyone. Next time, I will be fixing a Cyber Dragon deck sent in by Jason Manuel. I will tell all of you that I will have a very good deck fix article for his deck.

Remember everyone, If you have any decks you would like me to look at and fix for you, or you would like to talk to me about anything related to the Yu-gi-oh TCG, feel free to email at Kids6@Worldnet.att.net. If it is a deck fix, make sure you follow the rules for my deck fixes. If you do, then I may be fixing your deck in one of my future articles. If it’s not a deck fix, then make sure the subject line has the word “Yu-gi-oh” somewhere in it, or it will most likely get deleted.

That’s it for this article, everyone. I hope you enjoyed it. Goodbye and see you next time.

- Daniel

P.S. If you need to know what an abbreviation is, an example of it would be (MRD-032). I will explain it with more details when I give all of you the new rules for the deck fixies.
