February 2008
Jason's Power of Fusions Deck Talk - Daniel

Hello everyone and happy February! This is Daniel again. I’m back today to talk about Jason’s fixed Cyber Dragon deck from January 25, 2008. I didn’t want to talk about it last time because I wanted to talk about my new rules for my deck fixes. Today, I will be talking about his deck, but I will not add a side deck to it. Since this deck didn’t have a side deck to go with it, I will not be fixing it. Plus, it’s a waste of time for me to post a side deck for it since I’m so busy these days. However, after I talk about the deck, I will tell all of you what I will post for my next [few] article(s) as well as a few other things. So let’s get started.

First, I will be talking about the Cyber Dragon deck. Here is the decklist from January 25, 2008 for those of you that haven’t seen the Cyber Dragon deck fix yet: (Note – This decklist doesn’t have a side deck.)

Fusion Deck: 8 cards

2 Cyber End Dragon

2 Cyber Twin Dragon

2 Gatling Dragon

2 Chimeratech Overdragon

First, you should know that the goal of this deck is to bring out Chimeratch Overdragon as fast as possible. Then you want to support it with as many cards as possible so that you can win the game in one turn. Now that you know the goal of the deck, let’s talk about the deck itself. However, for this deck summary, I will just talk about each card or a group of cards by themselves and tell all of you how the cards helps out the deck. I feel that by doing it this way, you will get a better summary about each card than it just being a bunch of plain details about it in one paragraph.

First let’s talk about the monster cards in the main deck.

Cyber Dragon & Proto Cyber Dragon are the key fusion material monsters in the deck. They allow you to fusion summon Cyber End (Twin) Dragon or Chimeratch Overdragon to the field. Beware, Proto Cyber Dragon only counts as “Cyber Dragon” while it’s face-up on the field. Plus, Cyber Dragon makes sure you always have monsters on the field thanks to its effect.

Card Trooper & Morphing Jar are the deck thinners for the deck. They allow you to dump machines into the graveyard for Overload Fusion from your deck or hand. Plus, they refresh your hand with new cards from the deck when they get destroyed. Finally, Card Trooper is a machine that can be used for Overload Fusion.

D.D. Warrior Lady, Exiled Force, Barrel Dragon, & Blowback Dragon are the monster removal cards in the deck. They’re used to destroy monsters on the opponent’s field so that you will have a clear field when you get Overdragon out. Plus, the dragons are used to fusion summon Gatling Dragon.

Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive & Cyber Phoenix are the card drawers in the deck. They allow you to draw cards from your deck when they’re destroyed by battle or flipped face-up. Plus, they are machines you can use for Overdragon. Finally, Phoenix protects your machines while it’s on the field.

The last monsters I’ll be talking about are Necroface and the Hex-sealed fusions. Necroface is used to get back all of your machines that you’ve used for Overload Fusion when it’s summoned. Finally, the Hex-sealed fusions allow you to special summon any of your fusion monsters when you have it and one of the fusion monster’s fusion material monsters on the field.

Now everyone, if I did not explain any of the other monsters in the deck, that means those monsters are standard in decks these days and I don’t need to explain them. Or, it means that I already explain those monsters when I fixed the deck 2 articles ago.

Now let’s move on to the spell cards in the deck.

Overload Fusion, Future Fusion, Polymerization, & Power Bond are the fusion summoning cards in the deck. They can get out any of the fusion monsters if you have the right monsters in your hand, field, deck, and/or graveyard. Also, the Overload Fusion/Future Fusion combo is the key combo in the deck if you want to get out Overdragon with a high amount of attack points.

Heavy Strom, Mystical Space Typhoon, Nobleman of Crossout, & Lighting Vortex are the field removal cards in the deck. Crossout and Vortex clear the field of your opponent’s monsters. Plus, Storm and Typhoon clear the field of spell and trap cards. Beware, Heavy Strom also destroys your spell and trap cards.

The last two cards I’ll be talking about in the spell section of the deck are Fusion Sage and Limiter Removal. Fusion Sage lets you add Polymerization to your hand from your deck. Finally, Limiter Removal allows you to doubles your machines’ ATK for 1 turn. Beware, it destroys your machine army at the end of the turn which it was activated in.

Again, if I didn’t explain any of the other spells in the deck, it means that they’re stand in decks these days and they don’t need at explanation whatsoever.

Not let’s move on to the trap cards in the deck.

Sakrestsu Armor, Mirror Force, Magic Cylinder, Bottomless Trap Hole, & Torrential Tribute are the protection cards in the deck. They can either stop your opponent’s monsters from attacking or remove them from the field. However, remember that if you use Tribute, all of your monsters will be remove from the field as well as your opponent’s monsters.

The last 2 cards in the deck are Return from the Different Dimension and Call of the Haunted. Return can bring back all of your removed from play machines to the field, and Call can bring back a monster from the graveyard.

Last is the fusion deck.

Chimeratch Overdragon is what the deck is built around. With a total of around 17 machines in the deck, you will be able to summon it with a high ATK. Plus, it shouldn’t be hard to get it onto the field.

Cyber End Dragon, Cyber Twin Dragon, & Gatling Dragon are the other fusion monsters in the deck. Cyber Twin Dragon is able to attack twice during the same battle phase, and Cyber End Dragon can still do damage ever with the opponent’s monster in defense mode. Finally, Gatling Dragon can destroy a lot of monsters on the field depending on how many heads you get from the coin flips.

This wraps up the deck summary for this article, everyone. Now, I have a few more things to say before I leave.

First, I want all of you to know that I will be posting the card combo rules after I talk about a deck of my choice. My deck article will be next time, and I plan on talking about a Fire Princess Burn deck for that article. I will let all of you know that this deck type might get all of you into thinking about building one for yourselves after you read about it.

Second, I want to let all of you to know again that I will still be taking deck fixes thought out this month (February), but I will not be fixing them until next month (March). Remember again that I am not fixing them due to the ban list coming up in less than a month and the lack of time you have to try out your fixed decks.

Third, let me tell all of you again where to send the decks. Please send them to Kids6@Worldnet.att.net. Also, make sure you follow the rules from my last article for a chance at your deck being fixed by me.

Finally, please remember that I am a busy man and it may take me some time to get back to you if you send me a deck for me to fix. Also, I am doing the best I can to fix all of your decks. So please don’t tell me that I don’t fix your decks well.

That’s it for this article, everyone. Next time, I will be talking about a Fire Princess Burn deck that I have created myself. I’m sure all of you will enjoy it. Well, until next time, have fun and play fair. Goodbye.

- Daniel
