February 2008

water, water, everywhere, and not a drop to eat! --pwii

Well, this is pwii; back with another article. Two competitive decks are running field spells right now. One is crystal beast. The other is ALO standing for a legendary ocean. So I’m going to make a water beatdown deck. Enjoy!

Monsters x 18
Gigagago x3
Levia dragon Daedalus x2

Warrior of Atlantis x3
Soldier of the abyss x3
Mother grizzly x3
Amphibious murgoth mk-3 x3
Treeborn frog
Mermaid knight x2

Spells x15
Level limit area B
Mst
Shield crash x2
Nobleman of crossout x2
Salvage x3
A legendary ocean x3
Terraforming x3
Premature burial

Traps x7
Sakuretsu armor x3
Tornado wall x2
Gravity bind
Call of the haunted

THE STRATEGY

This deck tries to get out g-bind/llab and ALO ASAP to lock your opponent down. Then it proceeds to beat the crap out of him/her. Jut for fun; count how many times I abbreviated in this paragraph 0.o

THE MATCHUPS

This deck would be bad against 6s or anything to fast because if it can’t get out the lockdown combo soon enough, it’s kinda weak. This deck is also bad against bounce or spin decks. I can’t really think what it would be especially good against.

THE MONSTERS
Warrior of Atlantis searches out ALO and can kamikaze with cyber dragon if you already have it out. When ALO is in play, Gigagago [I CAN NEVER REMEMBER THAT @!#$% NAME!!!] is basically a lv 4 2650 monster. It’s basically a backup plan in case you can’t get out g-bind/llab. Levia dragon is when your opponent is ahead in advantage, you can even it out. I bet there is an OTK containing that somewhere in darkest Africa. Soldier of the abyss uses useless monsters to clear the field. He also combos with salvage and 2 –1500 attack monsters. Mother grizzly can search out treeborn, mermaid knight, and mk-3. And can be gotten with salvage. Mermaid & mk-3 are for beatdown.

THE SPELLS

ALO is the main focus of the deck. Shield crash and nobleman for removal. Mst for removal, Terraforming gets ALO. Salvage is basically there for the combo with abyss soldier.

THE TRAPS

Triple saku is handy as a backup plan. Tornado/g-bind wall combos with ALO.

THE END

This deck could really work so give it a try.

…and he fell in love with a woman as wild as the sea…
