Trading Card Game Tips from fans

October 2007

You read it here first. The New Face of Advanced OTK - DMOTK by J.Gannon

What is DMOTK?  The latest innovation of the OTK deck for the Advanced Format.
Does it involve Monarchs? No.
Does it involve Demise? No.
Does it involve Cyber Dragon? No.
Does it involve Gadgets? No.

Now before you begin scoffing, take a moment to concider that almost every major deck type in the meta as it evolved, came from a handfull of people trying out concepts that otherwise wouldn't have been thought of.  Take Soul Control for example.  It started as a decktype tinkered with by a few people, and now it's nearly become synominous with the game.  With this in mind I present an OTK deck that defies all convention with the promise of innovation.  I admit it is still rough around the edges but so far local testing has shown it has great promise in the face of adversity.

DMOTK - Dark Magician One Turn Kill.

Creatures: 18
1x Dark Magician of Chaos
3x Dark Magician
3x Skilled Dark Magician
1x Breaker the Magical Warrior
1x Crystal Seer
1x Magician of Faith
2x Apprentice Magician
3x Old Vindictive Magician
1x Sangan
1x Marshmallon
1x Spirit Reaper

Spells: 16
3x Dark Magic Curtain
3x Diffusion Wave Motion
2x Magical Dimension
1x Magical Mallet
1x Summoner's Art
2x Ancient Rules
1x Premature Burial
1x Giant Trunade
1x Heavy Storm
1x MST

Traps: 6
3x Ojama Trio
3x Windstorm of Etaqua

The theory behind this deck is very sound.  Set up with Ojama Trio and Windstorm, both of which are chainable traps and are usefull in a variety of situations.  Then get Dark magician on the field by whatever means are available, I prefer Dark Magic Curtain sure it costs half your life points and you can't summon any other monsters during the same turn you use it but hey, it's an OTK we're going for here.  Then there's Diffusion Wave Motion, the spell that brings it all together.  Attack all three Ojama tokens while they're in attack mode and that's 8400 points of damage total ( 2500*3 + 300*3 = 8400).  Ofcoarse it falls prey to any weakness that other OTK decks have, but that's to be expected.

Also, because my job keeps me limited to just local tournaments I'd appreciate to hear the results of anyone that might use this deck at their own events, Local, Hobby, or hey even SJC!
