Deck Ideas and rant

Hi Pojoers,

Today I want to talk about something that all should be aware of, our decks. Let me start by listing a few cards:

Heavy storm
Mystical space typhoon
Premature burial
Swords of revealing light
Snatch Steal
Nobleman of Crossout
Enemy Controller
Smashing Ground
Book of Moon
Pot of Avarice
Call of the haunted
Mirror Force
Sakuretsu Armor
Torrential Tribute
Dekoichi the Battleenchanted Locomotive
Sangan
D. D. warrior lady
Cyber Dragon
Spirit Reaper
Treeborn Frog

*******************************Problem*******************************:
Now what is wrong with this list? I¡¦ll tell I probably name at least half the cards in almost anyone¡¦s deck. Now the question is can we call ourselves original. If we have at least 50% of our cards the same as anyone else¡¦s, is this deck original?
I can throw in a few monarchs and people claim it¡¦s a monarch deck. I throw in 3 card troopers and it became a card trooper deck. How bout throwing in a Bazoo and return from a different dimension? The problem is the world championship. Is America winning against the other countries? Time after time again we are losing. The only time we are ever even in the top 10 was back in 2004 by Roy St. Clair, who came in 6th place.

I think we all need to start creating new decks rather than sticking with the same old deck. This decktype that we¡¦re running is getting old, we need to think of a combos and such.

*******************************Crticism*******************************:
The problem with running these cards lies with an article that was posted on pojo a few months back. The article spoke about if the cards we use is a part of our strategy. For example, I¡¦m running a burn deck. Would I really need to include a heavy storm or mst? I read from one of the reviewers on pojo ¡§if you have this and you don¡¦t play it you are a n00000000000b.¡¨ I¡¦m not going to say who it¡¦s from. But should I run this in a burn deck?
I say we should run cards based on whether this helps our strategy, not run cards because of others opinion.

****************Different Decks*******************************:
Note: Use these deck ideas, but make them original, don¡¦t add in cyber dragon of something for the hell of it.
Return to the top of your deck Deck
The problem with trying to create a new deck lies with the players. I¡¦ve seen people try out new decks. There is this deck I call the ¡§bounce deck¡¨ the guy prefers the name ¡§return to the top of the deck¡¨ deck. His main idea was basically return everything to the top of your deck. Not a bad idea, your opponent has to constantly play the same hand.

All seeing eye Deck
This deck uses convulsion of nature, archfriends oath, confiscation, etc¡K The idea is to constantly see what your opponent has and try to shake them up as much as possible. You could add in a few simultaneous loss, etc¡K This would attempt to control everything your opponent draws

Viral Infection Deck
Ever try Deck Devastation Virus and Disturbance Strategy? If your opponent does not have cards that Deck Devastation Virus can destroy, make them shuffle and draw new cards that cause them to potentially lose more cards.
Only problem is that they may draw a better hand. That is why D.D.
designator and confiscation is in there.

*******************************Conclusion*******************************:
Since everyone runs the same magic, trap, and some of the monsters, it¡¦s nothing more than a cookie cutter now. Because that¡¦s the definition, isn¡¦t it? When a great majority of our cards in our decks are the same as others it is considered a cookie cutter. We should try to make new and better deck ideas and completely reject the old style. I really want to see America in the top 3 at least. Thank you for reading.
