Trading Card Game Tips from fans

 March 2007
Please abuse this card!! - edgcomjc

When I saw the general gadget decks that swarmed immediately into the metagame, I had only one thought: He's going to be huge! Who, you ask? Well, thinnk about it. Gadgets mean monsters in graveyard. Earth Monsters. Lots of them. Tee Hee. Go! Gigantes!!!. This meta is all about agro, and Gigantes is as agro as they get. He's easily summoned with gadgets, 1900 ATK, and on top of everything else, a heavy storm effect when destroyed as a result of battle. The return of Snatch Steal isn't going to like this. Here is what I've come up with so far:

Deck: The Swarm

Monsters:
3x Cyber Dragon
3x Gigantes
3x Hydrogeddon
6x Gadgets
2x Marauding Captain
1x Snipe Hunter (Subbed in this week for Breaker)
1x Injection Fairy Lily
2x Hand of Nepthys
1x Sacred Phoenix

Magic Cards
3x Fissure
3x Smashing Ground
2x Enemy Controller
2x Rush Recklessly
1x Mystical Space Typhon
1x Heavy Storm
1x Snatch Steal (Subbed in this week for Graceful Charity)

Trap Cards
2x Sakuretsu Armor
1x Widespread Ruin
1x Mirror Force
2x Bottomless Trap Hole
2x Solemn Judgement
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Ring of Destruction.

Side Deck:
3x Royal Decree.
3x Mirror Wall |
1x Bottomless Trap Hole |
1x D.D. Assailant | ----> Anti Zombie
1x D.D. Warrior Lady |
3x Dark Core |
1x Snioe Hunter
2x Mobius the Frost Monarch

Total: 45 Cards

This deck has several advantages. First of all, it's almost impossible to get a bad hand. Even drawing the Phoenix to open isn't awful, because with the numbers of monsters that you can drop at a time, he's not even terribly difficult to normal summon. Secondly, It can just overwhelm your opponent's defenses. I have frequently dropped 4-5 monsters in one turn, and your opponent can only have so many fissures/smashing ground in hand. Games have often gone like this: I summon a gadget and set a card (or not) to open. My opponent summons a monster, destroys my gadget, and I take some damage. Oh well. Second turn. Special Summon Cyber Dragon. Special Summon Gigantes. Summon Maurauding Captain, Special summon Hydrogeddon (or Hand of Nepthys => Sacred Phoenix, or IFL, or another gadget, whatever,) watch my opponent turn interesting shades of puce. I have seen some of the best players in my state stare slack-jawed at my field after turn 2 or 3. It's a great feeling .

Please let me know what you think! edgcomjc@sbcglobal.net
