Volcanic Theme - Cameron

I was recently browsing the tips people sent in and it looks to me like there's really only 1 person who's interested in the Volcanic Theme. I say why? They're fun to play, the problem with burn decks has always been a lack of monster removal so Des Wombat and Jinzo completely screw them over. Not anymore! Another thing worthy of note is that Volcanic monsters are HUGE for burn monsters, if your opponent decides to side in Royal Decree they might have just shot themselves in the foot. If you don't wanna burn you don't have to, the Volcanic monsters double as beatsticks too! Here's my Volcanic Deck to give you an example:

Monsters: 19
Volcanic Blaster x3
Volcanic Doomfire x2
Volcanic Hammerer x2
Volcanic Rocket x3
Volcanic Scattershot x3
Volcanic Shell x3
Volcanic Slicer x3

Magic Cards: 14
Blaze Accelerator x3
Burial from a Different Dimension x3
Premature Burial
Soul of Fire x3
Tri-Blaze Accelerator x2
Wild Fire x2

Trap Cards: 7
Call of the Haunted
Firewall x2
Magic Cylinder
Ring of Destruction
Volcanic Recharge x2

Volcanic Blaster is the only card here that really loses you a card of advantage because it doesn't actually replace itself when destroyed in battle. However, this can be mitigated when searching for Volcanic Rocket, an instant +1 upon summon. It can also search for Volcanic Doomfire, which will quickly give you that advantage back if you've already got Tri-Blaze Accelerator online.

This deck quickly runs the opponent out of monsters, and as Destiny Hero pointed out, this deck is actually good against Monarchs. They need to Tribute Summon those things to do anything, if you destroy all of their tribute fodder they're stuck with useless Monarch in hand. And if they muster up a Special Summon or get Treeborn Frog online you can just blow everything up with Wild Fire and start over.

About the Burial from a Different Dimension cards, those are just there because I saw Axel use it to return 3 Volcanic Monsters back to the graveyard to continue using Firewall. It can also be used to return Volcanics to the graveyard for use with Volcanic Recharge or burn material for Volcanic Hammerer. Soul of Fire is best used with Volcanic Doomfire or Volcanic Hammerer to inflict the most damage, but refrain from using it unless you were already going to give up your Battle Phase. If you're planning on using Blaze Accelerator in a turn, why not burn with Volcanic Slicer, Volcanic Hammerer and Soul of Fire cuz you couldn't attack anyway.

This is truely a fun deck to play, it can run into bad hands but Volcanic Rocket helps by searching out this deck's key card and thinning it at the same time. It's easier to acquire the most expensive cards in this deck than it is to get ahold of Sapphire Pegasus and Rare Value for a Crystal Beast Deck. Believe me, I've bought 2 boxes of Force of the Breaker and have 2 Volcanic Doomfires, 3 Souls of Fire, 2 Tri-Blaze Accelerators and absolutely no Sapphire Pegasuses or Rare Values. I had to buy the Volcanic Rockets but it was worth it to make use of the other expensive cards I got. Try this theme out, you might like it.

Send your questions, comments, etc. to cjrwaud@cogeco.ca. Please no hate mail, I'm really a nice guy once you get to know me.
