Tips on Making a Great Crystal Beast Deck by Derek Semeraro

Crystal Beasts are a new and interesting deck type.  After experimenting with them for several weeks, I now know their strengths and weaknesses.

Strengths: Monsters which can turn into magic cards when destroyed.  Support like Crystal Abundance, Card Value, Crystal Blessing, Crystal Beacon, Hamon, and Rainbow City make them deadly.  The monsters have effects which work with each other.

Weaknesses:  Your magic and trap can be clogged quickly.  And you will easily find yourself out-swarmed, wishing you can summon twice per turn.

Aim of the Deck: Special Summon as many Crystal Beasts as you can in the magic and trap card zone and use it's support to your advantage.

Support:

Crystal Beast - Ruby Carbuncle
This card is weak in strength, but it still has the universal effect of Crystal Beasts.  Also, this can help Crystal Beast decks swarm.  How many that is ran is up to you.  1 or 2 should be good.  3 might be a bit too much.

Crystal Beast - Amehyst Cat
This card is a Crystal Beast.  That's all it can be credited for.  Using Rescue Cat with this is not worth it.  You should run none of these in your deck.  Maybe one, if you want to.  But, don't expect anything groundbreaking with this card.

Crystal Beast - Emerald Turtle
The turtle sets a good defense.  Not good enough for cards such as Cyber Dragon, but good.  It's effect is okay if you want to save your life points.  This is a good card, considering Crystal Beasts don't have much support monster-wise.  Run 2-3 of these.

Crystal Beast - Topaz Tiger
It's a beat stick and a Crystal Beast.  It works.  Run 2 or 3 of these.

Crystal Beast - Sapphire Pegasus
This is as great as it gets for beasts.  It gives the deck MASSIVE SPEED.  It is a Crystal Beast and a nice 1800 beat stick.  Run 3 of these or else.

Crystal Beast - Amber Mammoth
It's a Crystal Beast and a beat stick.  Always good.  And once in a while, it could serve as a protector.  2 or 3 should be good in a deck.

Crystal Beast - Cobalt Eagle
It can help you in cloggy situations, but it's nothing breathtaking.  Use one at max.

Card Value
It's a good card.  Drawing 2 cards is nice, but this is a Crystal Beast deck.  Not a Perfect Circle deck.  Using 3 of these, just because it sounds like Pot of Greed is a BIG MISTAKE.  All you need is one.  Two, if so.  You need to save your Crystal Beasts for more important things.

Crystal Raigeki
I know it seems like Smashing Ground, but I'd skip it altogether.  Saving your Crystal Beasts to blow up the field and swarm the opponent is much nicer than a -2/-1.

Crystal Beacon
This adds speed to the deck.  Use one or two.  It will help you.

Crystal Blessing
Adding 2 Crystal Beasts?  OUCH!  That hurts!  Use only one because Crystal Beast decks don't have a full graveyard of monsters.

Rainbow City
It give the user plenty of options to do with the Beasts.  I'd use two.  No Terras.  No Resorts.  Two is plenty.  It isn't a staple Field Spell like Necrovalley is.

Crystal Abundance
It feels like Chaos all over.  Blow up the field and summon your Crystal Beasts to attack directly.  In a deck with speed, this will rule.  Use 2.  It WINS GAMES.

Crystal Promise
You already have Beacon which does the same thing, but better.  Why this?

Last Resort
Not needed.  Too situational.  Terraforming is a smarter choice.

Gem Flash Energy
That's up to you, but I wouldn't use it.  It clogs the field.

Magna Slash Gravi Crush Dragon
Don't use these.  You have better uses for your Beasts.  If need be, use Zaborg or Mobius.  Any good tribute, but these.

Hamon Lord of Striking Thunder
Why not use the beasts to summon a god?  Only use one though.

Emergency Provisions
Helps you when your backfield is cloggy and gains you life points.  Not bad.

Mage Power
Gain 500 ATK for each Crystal Beast, why not?

Magical Merchant
Fill your graveyard up for Crystal Blessing.

Dual Summon
A card in Tactical Evolution which lets you summon twice.  It will help the deck's weak point.

Mobius the Frost Monarch
Since you don't want to use Heavy Storm, you might want to use this.

Cyber Dragon
Build up field power.

The Build:
Here is a build, I would personally recommend to somebody who wants to take their beasts to a tournament.
