Trading Card Game Tips from fans

From: Jonathan Sheng
Subject: A Second Look at Master of Dragon Knight - Likwidshtuff

No offense to the COTD reviewers but I believe they don't give Master of Dragon Knight as much credit as it ought to have.

However, no one has mentioned the possibility of using Black Luster Soldier (ritual) and a fusion substitute - such as king of the swamp and the hex sealed fusions to replace Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon.

A nifty card that's probably rotting away in our collection of cards is Manju of the ten thousand hands and Senju of the thousand hands.
These two monsters are able to fetch any ritual monster card from your deck and add it to your hand. So the way I see it, it would actually be quite easy to summon Master of Dragon Knight with the numerous advantage gaining cards for fusions. Now the problem is trying to make it competitive. One must prevent traps like bottomless and sak armor from going off in order to ensure a hit from Master of Dragon Knight. Quickplay spells are at a low - scapegoat, rush recklessly, and enemy controller - The only quickplay that could give you a lot of trouble would be offering to the doomed, and that is a tech card we rarely see.

Enemy controller will only stop you for a turn, rush recklessly is nothing to really worry about unless the monster they have has at least 4800 ATK, and as for scapegoat, give Master of Dragon Knight a little trample and laugh in their face.

Core of the deck (add in your MSTs and Gracefuls yourself, if you don't know the staples, then, uhmm, yeah . just look at what almost every decent deck has or perhaps . I dunno, ask someone):

Fusion Deck:
Required:
Master of Dragon Knight (MoDK) - obviously

Semi-required:
Cyber Twin Dragon - if you've faced this, you can understand why
Cyber End Dragon - Trample
Reaper on the Nightmare - handy direct damage and hand control as well as a unkillable wall.

Suggestions:
Dark Balter the Terrible - Spell negation
Ryu Senshi - trap negation
Sanwitch - just in case you want to fuse your sangan FTW.
Cyber Blader- Tech that might come in handy depending on the number of monsters your opponent has. and it's fusion material monster - cyber tutu could let you attack directly for decent damage.

Deck:
Monsters:
Black Luster Soldier (ritual)
Sangan
Manju of the ten thousand hands/Senju of the thousand hands
King of the Swamp
Mystic Tomato/Shining Angel
The Dark/The Light - Hex sealed fusion
Cyber Dragon (your preference)

Spell:
Pot of Avarice (advised tech)
Fusion Sage (your preference)
Fusion Recovery (Advised Tech)
Heavy Storm
Giant Trunade (your preference)
Re-Fusion (Advised Tech)
Dragon's Mirror (i think this works if you remove BLS and a Fusion substitute)

Traps:
Royal Decree (easiest way to save yourself from trouble)
Ceasefire ( your preference )
Ring of Destruction ( your preference )

The number of each card is not listed, this is something you should experiment with yourself.

Possible Tech:

Ancient Gear Cannon - Tribute this card, deal 500 damage, neither player can activate traps for the remainder of the turn. Trap negation to ensure your monsters aren't torrentialed or what not before they can even attack.

Ante - Both you and your opponent selects a card in their hand and compares the level of the cards. The player with the lower level monster sends the card he/she chose to the graveyard and takes 1000 damage. Card advantage is always a good thing, with a level eight BLS that is so easily available, you can deal 1000 damage and make them lose a card. It can also get rid of potential threats.

Apprentice Magician and Magician of Faith or Old Vindictive Magician- Maintaining field presence and card advantage

H - Heated Heart - Trample when your MoDK has at least 6000 ATK, intriguing.

Instant Fusion - pay 1000 and get Dark Balter and negate spells (I
think this works because people used to get this out with
metamorphosis )

Possessed Dark Soul - Either make him Dark Balter the Terrible or take over some scapegoats

Spirit Ryu and Masked Dragon - you can use spirit ryu to make ryu senshi or remove the lot of them to bring out Five-Headed Dragon.
This would be uber fun.

Solemn Judgment, My Body as a Shield, Interdimensional Transporter - Saving your monsters or what not.

Something crazy you could try is using morphing jar #2 as a tech to get BLS into the graveyar and dragons mirror, then remove BLS and a fusion substitute.

I haven't been on the tournament scene since I went to college this September so I'm sorry if what I said is a little off/useless. Hope you liked it, Likwidshtuff.
