Roid Rage - SmokeyRanger1986

Hey. My name's Chris Odell. One of the things I have begun to notice about the current metagame is that the Machines are not being utilized. The Roid fusion decks is especially underused. These monsters all have a card that helps them immensely - Rare Metalmorph (Continuous Trap). The effect of Rare Metalmorph reads:

Increase the ATK of 1 Machine-Type monster on the field by 500 points. Only once, negate the effect of a Spell Card that designates the monster. When the selected monster is removed from the field, destroy this card.

What this does, especially in the Roid fusion, is deal with cards like Brain Control, Enemy Controller, Creature Swap, and Book of Moon. Ideally, you would have summoned Super Vehicroid Jumbo Drill with Vehicroid Connection Zone, therefore negating Spell, Trap, and Effect destruction, plus Skill Drain and its similar friends. What you create is a monster that is virtually invincible. The only monsters to worry about are those who are just plain huge, but those are generally in newb decks or Mausoleum/Monster Gate decks, and are easily Bottomless-ed. And Dark Necrofear, because it can still take control of your precious toy after you kill it.

However, this isn't the end of the usefulness of Rare Metalmorph. Say you only had enough money to get one Jumbo Drill, but you've pulled a few Steam Gyroids out of packs before. Well, you can still Vehicroid fusion and add this little guy to the Engine and run over monarchs. Same with Cyber Dragon and Steamroid by itself. And Drillroids can go head-to-head with Cyber Dragons with this thing. There are so many combinations to aggro with this build.

So try it out. However, I would suggest a dedicated build, not just throwing in some Roids with your staples. The chance of getting the combo is reduced to virutally nil. This one definitely runs freely over Gadgets, the soon-to-be new metagame. I'm cackling with glee even now. :P Later, Pojo fans!

Smokey
