 Trading Card Game Tips from fans

From: drcdnilink02@aol.com
Subject: Monk deserve some more thought/there is no spoon

If you have been keeping up with the CofD then for the week of Oct. 9-13 you have seen the Monk card reviews. I am slightly upset about how the reviews read "this is trash". Konami does not make bad cards 95% of the time, yes some cards are hard to use but the best thing i can think of is "There is no spoon", "it is not the spoon that bends, but yourself"

You see it is not the card that becomes broken, but you make the card broken. Cards just standing there are usually not broken (except cards like the envoy twins, yata, you know the rest :) ). The life equalizer deck did not just fall out of easy to see cards, no they had to think it through. And I have seen some gread idas on the tips page (Look for a legendary juditsu and shien spy article, you may amaze yourself)

Now lets take another look at the cards of the day they are Legendary Black Belt Kaminote Blow Lone Wolf Monk Fighter, and master monk. Yes seperate they are bad, very bad, but worth some thought. using lone wolf gives you a chance at a spirit reaper lock with 9 posible monsters. Yes if lone wolf gets taken out your monster is in trouble, and yes if they play any kind of good monster removal you are not going to survive, but it can work. So what do you do with a monster lock? maybe use the monster, By using monk figher/master monk with kaminote blow and the legendary black belt you can destroy any monster and inflict damage to the opponent equal to the defence of the destroyed monster.

So what would the deck look like?

I think it would contain

Monsters=20

2xMaster Monk

2xMajestic Mech Ohka

3xmonk fighters

3xChu-ske mouse fighter

Magician of faith

2xapprentice Magician

2xHerald of Green Light

2xHerald of purple light

Breaker the magical warrior

2xOld Vendictive mage

Spells=15

3xLegendary black belt

3xKaminote blow

3xDark door

3xMessenger of peace

Graceful charity

heavy storm

mst

Traps=5

3xLone wolf

Magic Jamer

7 tools of the Bandit

Not the best deck, but I am making it on the fly. Do i think that this can win, yes. Can it win the local torney, maybe. Will it win the top 8 at a Jump, when pigs fly! The main goal to the deck is to set up the monk fighter in to the "lock" with his black belt attached and use kamoto blow to just drain the life out of your opponents. The spell card help to this end by controling the opponent in to the hard lock the mech can come on to the field with out their tributes, die, and they you still hold the lock.

This sort of thing hold true for almost every card in print, just becasue it seems out there and very much useless doesen't make it so, just try and let you brain bend in a different direction and maybe you will find the new broken combo.

Like I just wrote this is on the fly, by my standards this is a meh deck, but it is a start. If you think of something more coherent or just want to tell me that this will never fly e-mail me at Drcdnilink02@aol.com. This is Magnus, out.
