Well, i haven't been excited for any set to come out sinc IOC, every set that has come out since IOC has seemed more childish than the last, a throwback to the old days of pokemon TCG. The new set comming out however, i am very anxious.

Since I started playing in the IOC age (i was collecting from MRD on but IOC made me want to play) i've always wanted to play a really good "remove from play" deck. I made a decent one that really irked the best in my state (its disconcerting to see a remove pile larger than your draw pile) but it was only half decent.

However, with the new EOJ cards, its more than doable.

MacroCosmos- from the spoilers i've seen this is going to be a continuous trap card (or spell card, but i hope its a trap)that has Banisher of The Lights affect, everything that would be sent to the graveyard is instead removed from the game.
Celestial Convergence- quickplay spell, destroy all monsters on the field, do 300 damage, can only played when MacroCosmos is on the field.
Then there is another Banisher-Like monster, except it is a 1600 attacker instead of a 2000 defender.

The deck i would make from this would be a hybrid control, burn, aggro, moslty control.

MacroCosmos as a trap would be perfect, Dark World got ya down? Flip it as a chain and no monsters hit the field, Magical Merchant? laugh as every monster is removed instead of hitting the graveyard. Dead Draws would now include Magician of Faith, elemental searchers, Call of the Haunted, and Premature Burial.
Sangan dies a horrible, pointless death. Shuts down most cookie cutters :) Convergence? Quick Play Dark Hole, i don't need to ellaborate.

Return From the Different Dimension? Your friend, and with Convergence down, a bad play for your enemy.

Other benefits? Certainly.

Access to Monster Reborn and Pot of Greed in MULTIPLES! If you run the deck dedicated, you have no graveyard, and Chaos Greed is Pot of Greed without limit, Dimension Distortion is Monster Reborn without limit. Want to go full burn (burn???) There is a card that makes it so no battle phase occurs as long as there is no spells in your graveyard.

For the specifics. Chaos End is good, another Dark Hole that won't require MacroCosmos out as a regular magic card. DD Survivor is ungodly, unlimited end phase summons (DD Scout is limited to 1 per end phase per scout). Anyone rmember ectoplasmer? Remove your survivor to do 900 and then resummon it. Was it already removed, bring it back, sack it, resummon it.
That is legal. Sakuretsu armors? DD survivor makes it a 1-0, like a negate attack. You fight a clear field since your opponent will have to tribute during their turn, or place it face down, at which point Nobleman will get it. If its a searcher, nothign happens, same with sangan. Not many people play 4 star or lower with higher than 1800 defense.

Soul Absorbtion will let you gain 500 life whenever a card is removed, so you can gain life you doing damage, and gain it when your opponent uses your ectoplasmer.

DD assailant and DDWL work perfectly in the format, even morso than usual. In fact, this deck can easily be a warrior variant since you'll probably have 3 dd survivor already.

Lifepoint cost cards won't hurt, in fact Solemn Judgement may be your best friend. Not to mention you have up to 9 cards to do what the core of the strategem requires (6 monsters and 3 MacroCosmos, as none are limited), plenty of monster destruction capeabilities, and with some of the new negating cards and some of hte old ones.... :) Card Draw, Monster Reborn, and denying hte opponent a lot of their strategy. With the right modifications for your play style this could easily be tier 1 stuff.

Anyway, i plan on hitting 2 Sneak Preview events, my deack will be tested, worked on, pimped, and ready on day 1 when the set will be legal in all tournament formats.

ps. One more thing, Majestic Mech Ohka, 2400 attack 0 tribute if you are willign to let it die in the end phase, make that loss a gain, crash it into something, tribute it for ectoplasmer. :) happy gaming everyone!
