Subject: The perils of trying some originality... - IgaruKetsuki

Who wants to be original AND win games with their decks? Me for one.Thats why i went from warrior toolbox monarch/ cyber dragon... to. Well it had monarchs in it. 2 mobiuses and 1 zaborg, jinzo, cyber dragon, choas sorceror, DMOC... which isnt original. But the spell economics part of the deck was quite original, and if i got the right hand, it could easily win games. But of course the problem with even tryng to be original in this game is that cookie just murders you. Thats of course is why its cookie. Ive tried now with a few decks to have some originality whilst having a competetive deck.

Orignality in yu gi oh is of course a joke. Every good card in the game has been used at some point by every player that has it, unless of course they hate it or dont see its merits. Cyber dragon for instance is a prime example of this. It is of course sligfhtly over hyped and goes for far too much on ebay and other such sites. It basically gives a free tribute, or free field advantage. Which makes it good. But the amount of times ive seen (and its happened to me) cyber dragons in the hand because the player already has monsters out, and they're better mosnters than the c dragon. then later on these monsters die an your oppponent gets mobius or jinzo out... then c dragon useless unless you want defence or youve just top decked a smash. C dragon is a v good minster so if you want to make a good deck you end up putting him in, decreasign your deck orignality.
Staples in most decks like breaker, dd warrior lady etc also are cards that have to be used for your deck to be seen as competetive. And this is true for most. People are too scared (incluiding me, lol) of moving away from staples and what are seen in the meta as competetive decks such as monarch control, warrior toolbox etc. Any way i still journey on.. trying to make a competetive original deck...
My llatest project is a warrior weenie with d hero doom lords :) and cliff the trap remover isntead of don zaloog... lol wish me luck, and good luck to those people out there who are also tryign to make orignal competetive decks.
