Trading Card Game Tips from fans

Subject: The amazing insta-tribute! -Nitemare

Recently I took it upon myself to go through all of what I designated "crap cards" and decide what was worth keeping and what I should just throw out or give away to eager n00bs. (Because, let's face it, no one needs 7 copies of Giant Soldier of Stone... or most cards from that far back in the day). About halfway through my second stack, I came across a card that I had only barely glanced at before I tossed into the pile of uselessness which I now had before me for the first time in months. What looked like a thoroughly disgusting effect in the days of old now possessed seemingly unlimited potential in my eyes...

The card I speak of is a little-known dinosaur by the name of Gilasaurus from LON. For the many of you that may have never even seen this card, here's the breakdown:

Gilasaurus
LON-071
Earth/Dinosaur
3-star
ATK/1400
DEF/400
Effect: You may treat the Normal Summon on this card as a Special Summon. If you select Special Summon, your opponent may select a Monster Card from his/her Graveyard and Special Summon the monster to the field.

I can imagine that half of you who read this are thinking "what is he smoking?" No one should ever want to give their opponent free recursion! If you are one of them, I invite you to hit the back arrow now and look for the next best tip you can find.

But for the half of you that are thinking "maybe he's onto something here," let's take a further look at the possibilities:

Imagine holding this little guy next to a Jinzo or Mobius in your hand early in the game before a monster hits your opponents graveyard... I shouldn't have to elaborate on this one. Even if your opponent has a rather weak monster in their grave, assuming they don't see right through your plan, they'll probably place their weakling in attack position if it can top Gilasaurus's 1400 ATK. Then tribute and enjoy.

Mid-late game, this guy gets worse, but he still isn't a half bad draw if you're holding a 5-6 star monster in your hand with no other means of summoning it. One possible answer here would be another slightly overlooked card: Soul Release. Remove your opponent's best options and have some fun with it. You could even run this with Necrovalley if you dared, in order to negate his negative recursion effect completely... assuming your GK deck runs a Jinzo, Mobius or other considerable tribute, such as my favorite, Horus LV6, or even a Silent Swordsman LV5 (A-Forces, anyone?).

Those of you kind enough to read this far, I reward you with a truly interesting final thought. Looking ahead, I noticed there are a lot more cards on the way that remove cards from play. On card that caught my eye was Dimensional Fissure, a continuous spell that sends from play all cards that are sent to the graveyard. I can see an entire deck built around cards such as these, along with Gilasaurus, Tyranno Infinity (1000 ATK for every dino removed from play), and some higher level dinos. With nothing going to the graves, Gilasaurus can swarm and get tributed off for no price, then followed up with a heavy Tyranno Infinity later in the game.

Thanks for reading! This is my first tip and, even if you have no intention of trying this out, I at least hope it was entertaining. If anyone cares to discuss unique combos, you may email me.
