Subject: Deck Rate/possible fixes -Merajur Syed

By: !MerJ!

Hi, I was just posting my spell caster deck that I (modified) of the original spellcaster?s structure deck. It?s a fun deck idea to play with and quite strong. It does lose sometimes though, and I wanted some input from advanced players to rate and fix my deck so it can be better. I like to run many types of decks, but I prefer the spellcasters type. Thanks a lot and a good day to you too.

Monsters: Level 5+
Dark Magician X3
Chaos Sorcerer X3

Level 1-4
Skilled Dark Magician X3
Magician of Faith X2
Magical Merchant X2
Mythical Beast Cerberus X2
Apprentice Magician X2
Double Coston
Breaker the Magical Warrior
The Unhappy Maiden
Tsukuyomi
Time wizard

Spells:
Magical Dimension X3
Magical Blast X2
Swords of Revealing Light
Mage Power
Mystical Space Typhoon
Lightning Vortex
Dark Magic Attack
Snatch Steal
Heavy Storm
Nobleman of Crossout X2
Premature Burial

Traps:
Spellbinding Circle
Call of the Haunted
Torrential Tribute
Secret Barrel
Pitch-Black Power Stone X2
Magic Cylinder

The idea behind this deck is to hold off enemy fire until I could quickly summon a Dark Magician or a Chaos Sorcerer. A lot of the cards in the deck work in compilation of one another. Apprentice magician is there to summon another spellcaster to tend to my field needs. Either I set a another Apprentice Magician or set a Time Wizard for destruction on opponents field, or as chaos food, (whichever side the coin lands I still get the last laugh). I only keep Time Wizard in the deck for emergency sake, only for the right situation, either in my hand or deck, and Apprentice will do the job.
I also use the Magician of Faiths to get back spells from the graveyard and as chaos food. This deck lies greatly in the use of spells to win and to summon a dark magician via Skilled Dark Magician. The apprentice magician is also used for spell counters and to set a The Unhappy Maiden to end my opponents battle phase. Well, Apprentice is used for a lot of things, but now I?ll talk a bit about the assortment of my monsters. The monsters have an exact 1:1 ratio of dark monsters to light monsters for theoretically guaranteed chaos food. Although, that only excludes the tribute monsters.
Basically, apprentice can serve as a major backbone to this deck just like Zidane to the French soccer team, too bad it?s too weak to make an attack.
Infact putting spell counters on cards with apprentice magician is too risky since it?s so weak and it can?t even lay a head butt as powerful as Zidanes lol, (sorry to all Zidane fans out there, but he?s my favourite player too).
It also serves as Breaker?s servant, alongside with Pitch-Black Power Stone.
Either Breaker uses these spell counters or Skilled Dark Magician, and as well as Mythical Beast Cerberus. Also, the Magical Merchant is in there to get a spell/trap to my hand, or send some dark/light monsters to the graveyard for chaos food. Again I win both ways. Also Premature/Call of the Haunted can get that Dark Magician to the field from the graveyard. Skilled Dark Magician is obviously there in multiples to summon a Dark Magician, but I like to get it special summoned from the deck because then it increases your chances of a better draw then a Dark Magician, but being a dedicated Dark Magician fan, I am being critical by saying this but drawing a Dark Magician is as bad as a dead draw unless you have a spellcaster and a Magical Dimension very handy. The Cerberus is there since it can use the boost of spellcounters and it?s a light, works well with all spells, especially magical blast, the recurring card and serves as chaos food in the
1:1 ratio. Double Coston is there only to summon Dark magician from my hand, that?s only if I actually drew the Magician and this dark zombie has enough stats to take a stand for at least one turn so Dark Magician can be special summoned. Also serves as chaos food. Tsukuyomi, no need to explain this little hot-pie, works for Snatch, Premature, and flipping my Apprentices for spell counters and my Magician of Faiths. Magical Dimension is the ecstasy to this deck, speeding everything up to get the big badboy out, or to atleast destroy that annoying reaper on the field and heading for a straight attack. It?s really funny to see your opponents face when you?re Cerberus is attacked because the spell counters were removed last turn and then you activate this portal card and summon a Time Wizard/Apprentice and destroy any one of the opposing monsters. Magical blast is used in essence with all the spell counter cards, and a Lightning Vortex, burning is also fun, but only little damage is dealt. Can be very deciding though, and can help you win. It was one duel where I was on a roll dropped my opponents life points to 800 and I was at 8000. Somehow, I came down to 500 in 2 turns, and my opponents monsters were overwhelmingly strong. Luckily, I had two Magical Blasts in the graveyard and one spellcaster on my field and one in my hand.
I drew the two Magical Blasts from my graveyard and summoned the other spellcaster, and luckily was able to activate both of the Magical Blasts dealing exactly 800 damage and I won. Secret barrel is a very fun card, either activate it at the beginning to drop your opponents life points to 6800 on turn one, or wait for that Graceful to hit the field, then do the damage. Imagine (6+3) X 200=1800 damage, quite a lot in turn one, don?t you think so, and it makes the opponent rethink that Return from the Different Dimension. The rest of the cards are there for the basic effects, since this deck runs low stat monsters, I put in the Cylinder and Binding Circle to negate my opponents attacks. Well, I hope all you readers liked the article, in fact it is my first article ever for anything online so please don?t criticize me too much for any mistakes I made. Also, I would like it if anybody would rate this deck and give me advice to fix the deck with and reasons for it too. Thanks everybody for taking your time to reading my article and I hope you readers very well!!!
