Subject: Like a Rock - Jacob Linville

Hi! It's me again with an underplayed, yet effective deck type. No, this isn't a Dodge commercial, it's a Rock/Burn Deck. It's main focus is the new Ultra-Rare card in the new starter deck, the newest reincarnation of Exodia,

Exxod, Master of the Guard. Instead of unstoppable attack, it has an unstoppable defense. But, more importantly, it has an effect.

Exxod, Master of the Guard
Earth
8 stars
(rock/effect)
This card cannot be Normal Sumoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Tributing 1 monster on your side of the field that includes "sphinx" in it's card name. While this card is face-up on the field, each time an EARTH monster is Flip-Summoned, inflict 1000 points of
damage to your opponent's Life Points. 0/4000

The sphinx thing might seem like a drawback, but the sphinx cards are actually a great help to this deck. Here's the deck. Then, check out the strategy(if you don't already know it).

Monsters 23
x2 Exxod, Master of the Guard
x2 Hieracosphinx
x2 Criosphinx
x2 Guardian Sphinx
x2 Guardian Statue
x2 Moai Interceptor Cannons
x2 Medusa Worm
x2 Golem Sentry
x2 Megarck Dragon
x3 Giant Rat
x2 Great Spirit
Spells 13
x3 Shield and Sword
x2 MST
Graceful Charity
Brain Control
x2 Hammer Shot
Premature Burial
x2 Nobleman of Crossout
SORL
Traps 4
x2 Magic Drain
x2 Compulsory Evacuation Device

Obviously, Exxod is our burn engine. Hieracosphinx has 3 functions: 1) Protect your facedown monsters so you get their effects. 2) Beatstick. 3) Sacrifice for Exxod. Get this guy out, build an army of facedown monsters, sac him for Exxod and you can win in 2 TURNS!!! Criosphinx is interesting and very useful and versatile. With the heavy amount of bounce cards, this card can be devastating. He can also be Special Summoned w/ Giant Rat for no

Tribute, plus he is a sphinx. Guardian Sphinx is amazing w/ Criosphinx and he is a sphinx, too. Guardian Statue and Golem Sentry are re-flippable and bouncers. Moai Interceptor Cannons are high defense and re-flippable. Medusa

Worm is great monster removal. Megarock Dragon is a game winner mid-late game. Giant Rat gets out anything you may need at the time. Great Spirit is just wow. Great effect, re-flippable, makes beatstick, searchable. Shield and Sword is just so unexpectaed and surprising when Exxod is out. Your opponent will be so astounded, they will forget about their facedown Mirror Force. Hammer Shot is great removal and always will hurt your opponent.
Magic Drain is good counter that will always be a 1-for-1. Compulsory Evacuation Device is bounce.

Strengths
The strength in this deck is it's versatility on the win strategy. It burns,

attacks, bounces, and has hand destruction. What DOSEN'T this deck do. And with all my decks, it's underplayed(although there is a starter deck for it*HINT*), so it's a surprise.

Weaknesses
Like any deck, it runs into bad hands. If you have Exxod and no sphinx, you're stuck. An underplayed counter to this deck is Dark Mirror Force.
"Okay, I'll activate Shield and Sword and attack you w/ Exxod." "Dark Mirror

Force!" "NOOOOOOOOO!!!" Now you're stuck with a zero ATK Exxod and no support or burn. That's why this deck has so much bounce. Don't waste all your resources early or you could end up in this scenario.

Hope you like the deck!
Send anything you want(cough*deck ideas*cough) to bigbilly68rox@hotmail.com I'm out of school, so I can reply fast!
