Subject: Call my Duelist Bluff? - Ezekiel

Hey All!

Today I'm gonna be talking about how much bluffing is too much bluffing in a duel. Now I don't mean lying to your opponent and being arrogant. I mean the psychology and body language behind a duel. Say for example you had a great opening hand eg Sangan, Breaker, SakAr, Cyber Dragon, Smashing Ground and MST. Would you act cocky and grin away at your opponent allowing them to think you have an awesome hand or would you act more reserved and calm?

If you looked ecstatic about your hand your opponent could have a rogue Card Destruction and seize an opportunity to do some damage not only to your hand advantage but also your morale. The same can be said of having a poor front and back field as well as a pathetic hand, but putting on a brave face and continue dueling while retaining your pride. Should you have a "Dueling Face" like the way people have "Poker Face's?" Confidence could be a game saver, by remaining optimistic even in the face of potential destruction. By hoping for the right card to come up, perhaps the "Heart of the Cards" will shine for you and you'll win! If you don't you'll at least go down with a shred of dignity.

So should you pretend to have a good or bad hand? Well there's no rule against it so the only thing to consider is the moral implications of it. Say you set Dark Coffin, with a big smile on your face. Your opponent could think you've just laid a SakAr or Widespread and they use their MST to take it out. Instead they find they have to discard from their hand or destroy from their field.

Would you do that?

I leave you with that question my readers and as a big favour to all of you folks out their in Pojoland, if you like my articles and would want to see me as a Feature Writer then could you put in a good word for me with the head honchos at Pojo HQ? Thanks if you do and if you think its pretentious of me drop me a line!

As ever you can contact me at:-

Till Next Time Folks

Peace Out,

Ezekiel
