Why card advantage is not all-important-Chaosmech

Ok, there's been talk going around about card advantage and how everyone needs to understand it to win and be successful. I'm about to dispel that myth.

Ok, first, before you read the rest of the article, go out and read Wicked's

article on Card Advantage, because it's important you understand the concept. I'm not going to outline it here.

Anyway, now that you're back, the idea is that card advantage should be a servant to the end goal: to win. And how do we win? Some by use of Exodia, some by Last Turn, some by Final Countdown. But the vast majority of duelists do it by reducing their opponent's LP to zero! OMG! That means that

LP, in the long run, is the end-all be-all of the game. If you have no life points, you have no chance of winning. In fact, you've already lost. How much is your card advantage going to help you if you're down to 100 LP? Not at all, that's how much.
So you can rant and rave about how your card is awesome for Card Advantage, or how much it sucks, all in the name of advantage, but the point is, people, you're losing track of the main goal!
Now, you advantage fans out there (especially Fridginators; I bet I'll be getting several emails from him about this) will be furious with me by now.
But just pay attention, and let me defend my point of view.
Now, I'm not saying that advantage isn't important. But some people treat it

like it is the sole factor in winning a duel. It's not! How many people have

won because they had more cards in their hand than their opponent? None. In fact, you can have all the cards in the world in your hand, and if none of them are any good, or if they don't fit your current needs, than. GASP!.
they're useless! Your advantage does you NO GOOD.
What do you do after you pull off a Lightning vortex to nuke your opponent's

three monsters? You summon a monster, and ATTACK THEIR LIFE POINTS!! It's as

though card advantage was a tool to get to attacking the life points. And I don't care what you say, if you have a Final Countdown deck, then you don't need card advantage. All you need is to stay alive. If you can do that without card advantage, I'll be impressed, but more importantly, it makes my

point. Yes, card advantage makes it easier to win. But, at the same time, it's not the one thing that wins games. Except in Exodia decks. But that makes up about five percent of the dueling population.
You know what? I'm sure you all have opinions about this article, so feel free to email me at chaostalker@hotmail.com. If you've read my articles before, and just can't bring yourself to change the address, fine, email me at my old ones. You'll know what I'm talking about.
Until next time, keep it cool, and fear. wait BLS is banned. Ok, fear Chaos Sorcerer!
