Subject: Maintaining True to A Warrior's Heart by Rio

Maintaining True to A Warrior’s Heart

This goes to all those who say that there is NO point in running Warrior Lady of the Wasteland (WLotW) over Giant Rat. The point is rather simple actually, cause it’s a warrior! Obviously Giant Rat is a more versatile card because you can summon ANY 1500 atk or less Earth monster. But for a WARRIOR deck it’s the perfect choice. Since it’s a warrior it has TONS of support. First off, for those who don’t know her effect….

Warrior Lady of the Wasteland

SD5-EN002

Warrior/Earth 1100atk/1200def

When this card is destroyed as a result of battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 EARTH Warrior-Type monster with an ATK of 1500 or less in face-up Attack Position from your Deck to your side of the field. Then shuffle your Deck.

Here are a few of the bigger support cards:

Divine Sword - Phoenix Blade

SD5-EN018

Spell/Equipment

You can only equip this card to a Warrior-Type monster. Increase the ATK of the equipped monster by 300 points. If this card is in your Graveyard during your Main Phase, by removing from play 2 Warrior-Type monsters from your Graveyard add this card to your hand.

Now here’s a great example of how WLotW outshines G. Rat. Sure you can use G. Rat but unless your running Gigantes he’s dead weight in your graveyard. WLotW on the other hand can be removed from your graveyard to use Divine Sword’s recursion effect. PLUS she’s Earth so you can STILL use Gigantes outside of pure warriors.

The A. Forces

Spell/Continuos

For every face-up Warrior-Type and Spellcaster-Type monster on your side of the field, increase the ATK of all Warrior-Type monsters on your side of the field by 200 points.

Key thing about this card it’s a field boost for YOU only. Now I know a 200-atk boost can be laughable if not hysterical, especially if you consider that this will only make WLotW be 1300 atk. But its not what you can do for your lady, its what she can do for you. Basically meaning, your lady is out there not to give herself a boost, but to give your OTHER warriors a boost. With Marauding Captain being UNRESTRICTED warrior swarm is a going to be even more common. A. Forces won’t just give one of your warriors a boost; it will give ALL of them a boost! WLotW is going to help you maintain your warrior field presence. Speaking of field presence and boost…

Command Knight

Warrior/Fire 1200atk/1900def

As long as at least 1 other monster exists on your side of the field, your opponent cannot select this card as an attack target. Also, as long as this card remains face-up on the field, increase the ATK of all your Warrior-Type monsters by 400 points.

Ok, I know, I know. Your thinking, WTF!! C. Knight isn’t Earth. What’s the relation? Field Control. C. Knight CAN’T be attacked as long as there is another monster on the field. Forcing your opponent to attack your searcher with a new atk of 1500atk, and then giving you the opportunity to bring forth a new Warrior with a possible attack of 1900. Sweet. This is also a good way of protecting C. Knight and making your opponent think twice about attacking.

Reinforcement of the Army

Spell/Normal

Move 1 Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. Your deck is then shuffled.

Can you say, "Search the searcher"? I think you can. Again in a WARRIOR deck, WLotW is very versatile.

The Warrior Returning Alive

Spell/Normal

Select 1 Warrior-Type monster in your Graveyard and return it to your hand.

Recycle and reuse her effect. Deck thinning and speed. Nuff said.

Honorable Mentions:

Any other warrior support cards.

(ex. Fusion Sword Murasame, Marauding Captain, Freed the M.General, Ready for Intercepting etc.)

Basically my point is that UNLIKE Giant Rat, Warrior Lady has TONS of support and combos well with more cards than G. Rat does. I’d like to state that in no way am I calling G. Rat inferior. I’m simply saying that Warrior Lady is superior…lol jk. But seriously, if you run a warrior deck, play test her, you may find her more to your liking.

Laters players,

Rio
