Subject: How to stop "Rare Hunters"-D.S.



Today I went to the store to find that ALL of the Blue eyes ultimate dragons had been torn out of the shonen jump magazine. That is when I decided to make this problem known since thieves don't just take promo items they mostly go after stuff at tourneys.



A thief will look for an easy target as getting caught can mean arrest and or being banned from a store or a league. So they look for a place with lots of distractions and naive kids (to take advantage of). Some thieves will steal cards and trade them for better ones or sell them for money.



What thieves look for:

Promos in magazines

Commons bins

Unattended decks & loose cards



Thieves usually do not go for things that are on you, like a backpack or a deck box with a lanyard on it. Also they do not usually try to pull cards out of binders because that is tedious and people usually keep an eye on their binder.



How to keep thieves off your stuff

Deck box with lanyard or put your deck in your pocket.

Binder with zipper (So you can hear it being unzipped)

Keep a close eye on your stuff!

Keep your rares separate (Still in a binder)

Keep a hand on your stuff in a crowd





How to spot a thief

Someone who keeps looking at a particular card that you have and then looks around to see if anyone is looking.



Someone who is looking around the ceiling for security cameras and to see if the shop owner is looking.
