Subject: One man's rant about CC cards and boring duels- RequiemBlues



Everyone's watched some duels after they were done, but then usually at tournaments, almost half the player base there has almost the exact same cards as everyone else's.This in turn leads to some very boring duels and almost predictable strategies.At one tournament alone I saw at least 20 smashing grounds.That made me switch out my own with another card that is severely over-looked:Hammer shot.

Usually when someone uses Smashing ground they are killing something that either removes from play or has a way higher attack than they do.Whats the point of destroying the defense if you are always using it for attackers?

Another card that is severely overused is the one and only Cyber dragon.Although it is really useful,sometimes I see almost 2-3 always splashed in a deck that it doesn't even belong in.One of my friends runs a Cookie Cutter beatdown with three of the things for no reason at all than he wanted to buy them to win.

I'm sorry but in a tournament where D.D. Assailants are run in two's in every deck with a warrior lady,whats the point?Originality is all but dead.The only thing that keeps things funny and interesting in a tournamnet when I go is my friend Joseph's Water deck.Any CC deck he goes against scoffs at his monsters and theme until late-game when he's got a clear field from a Levia dragon, or when he's swarming with three hydrogeddons and two aqua spirits.I almost laugh when I hear "the Hell?" or " there's no way..."

What I'm trying to say is, try something new once in awhile.Exarion Universe isn't THAT bad, and maybe Airknight could get replaced with Mefist the Infernal emperor.I myself run an ACTUAL dark themed deck with Strike Ninja's and D.D. Scout planes.So what if Mystic Swordsman lvl2 and Drillroid have a higher attack? I run the litte guy named Sasuke Samurai just BECAUSE he looks cool.and maybe...just maybe....people would run The Fiend Megacyber instead of the overused Cyber dragon.That doesn't mean you can't try cards for fun or casual play.
