Trading Card Game Tips from fans

Why Confiscation is not worth using - HaiYena

Lets see what Confiscation does. Confiscation is basically a 1 for 1 trade at a cost of 1000LP. When you think about it, you spend more than what you get in return.

When and how is it best used?
In my experience, I think most others would agree that the best time to draw this card is in your opening hand, or very early in the game. This is usually the period where the opponent has the largest hand throughout the entire game. This period is also the time where they will most likely have powerful cards like Dark Hole or Heavy Storm in their hand. Remember, they have a
5 in 40 (1 in 8) chances of having at least one of these powerful cards in their hand. The only time when you get your value for 1 card and 1000LP is if you make your opponent discard a game-breaking card like Dark Hole, Torrential Tribute, Heavy Storm etc etc. (anything that can give them a +1 or higher advantage).

Why it can be good.
- As stated above, its only worth the use if you discard a game breaking card from your opponent's hand, or if your whole stratergy is based on hand disruption.
- The card can also allow you to anticipate certain cards since you do get to look at your opponent's hand, however people can forget, thats why I suggest that you have a pen and paper ready to write down their hand (as long as you do this quickly then the judges can't give you a warning for wasting time).
- In the late game when both players are topdecking, Confiscation is good to use as a bluff or as a discard =P eg. to negate your opponent's Magic Drain.

Why you shouldn't use Confiscation.
- There is a good chance that you won't discard a game breaking card from your opponent's hand.
- It has a very small window of time during a duel when Confiscation is most effective.
- Its also a terrible card to topdeck when you need a card to either end the game or save the game for you and this is the major reason why I don't like this card. At this time its only good for discarding or setting as a bluff (as stated in the Props above).

What do you use it for?
Its a good enough card to Side deck incase of certain combo decks where hand disruption is their biggest enemy. You might even Main deck it if you like to use the Trap Dustshoot and Mind Crush combo made famous by Jae(Love) Kim.

Personally I like to make my deck more topdeck friendly since its easy to go into topdecking mode these days. Most people in my Metagame don't maindeck Confiscation that much anymore, not even the CC Warrior toolboxes. Even take a look at the deck lists on the tourney reports here or even on Metagame.com site, and you'll see that Confiscation is being Main decked less frequently now. People are now realising that Confiscation is not worth using like when Delinquent Duo was being abused by all decks in the last format. Think about it, people didn't mind recycling Delinquent via Magician of Faith, but you don't see anyone trying to recycle their Confiscation through MoF. Would you?
(no that does not mean I want you to email me your answer to that question, and remember all my statements are more of a generalised opinion, I am aware of specific conditions, which would contradict my staements).

Since I have to give you my email
