 The Spellcaster-Chaos Deck-- Chaosmech

From: "chaosmech@juno.com" <chaosmech@juno.com>
Date: Wed, 18 May 2005 19:21:03 GMT

Hey, everyone, Chaosmech is back. That’s me, by the way. In any case, I was posting on the message boards the other day when someone requested a Spellcaster/Chaos deck. Naturally, this caught my attention, as I try to specialize in Chaos decks. So, on the spot, I designed the deck you see before you now. Enjoy!

Fusion deck: 3
Dark Paladin x3
Total Cards: 44
Slightly large for a deck, but given certain dynamics, it thins very quickly. I mean, look at this situation. Say you have a Royal Magical Library face-up in defense and a Magician of Faith face-down in defense. You draw Pot of Greed. You play it, drawing two cards. One spell counter for RML. You flip MoF, returning Pot. Play it again, leaving two spell counters on RML. By now, you probably have a Book of Moon, so play that on MoF. Three spell counters, draw a card by RML’s effect. You have drawn 5 cards to your hand now, excluding the one you drew at the beginning (pot of greed). You can now play any Book of Taiyou on MoF, returning Pot. Play pot. 2 spell counters plus 2 more cards. Play another Book of Moon. Three spell counters, plus a face-down MoF. Draw again with RML. Now you have 8 cards you’ve drawn. You have a 2000 DEF wall to protect your LP, and if your MoF is attacked, you can return Pot of Greed.
Also, Apprentice Magician thins the deck extremely quickly. It gets flipped, and you special summon another in f/d defense mode, and defend your LP, then retrieve a MoF or an OVM with the last one. More cards gone from your deck.
With the Skilled Magicians, you can fetch Dark Magician or Buster Blader from your deck with three Spell counters. And this deck is very well designed for Spell counters. Both monsters are powerhouses in themself, but when you get both plus Polymerization… well, we know the end result. Dark Paladin comes out. Why three, you ask? Because. The Skilled Magicians can also fetch Dark Magician or Buster Blader from the Graveyard, and MoF is good at returning stuff like Polymerization. So if you find yourself with a Skilled Magicians and a MoF, you can get another Paladin. Better safe than sorry.
I’ll get to work on those banlist articles. Until next time.
Chaosmech
