The Progression of Duelists ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: Dbzsoccerboy@aol.com Date: Wed, 30 Mar 2005 19:12:12 EST Here is a copy of my TCG tip: (I have also attached a .doc copy) (PS: Please reply if you're using it. Thanks, DDM) The Progression Of Duelists Now, I have been playing the game of Yu-Gi-Oh for many, many years now, and I have realized that there are four types of players: 1. People who want all rare cards, and crave to win (Screw you Dale) 2. People who strive to be completely original 3. People who run the “all-mighy” chaos deck to win. (Screw you – Necrovalley) 4. People who play what feels right. (ie. Zombies, warriors, burn, ect) People who want all rare cards to win just do not know what this game is about. Fun. That what it is about. It’s about building a cool deck, and putting up a great fight right to the end against a worthy opponent. So I say, you can have ALL the rare cards you want, but when you get them all, what kind of deck are you going to make? Just think about it. People who strive to be original are just missing the point. Just because you see someone else running a combo, does not make it “unoriginal” for you to run it too. It is human nature to want to win, so when we see an awesome combo, it’s OK to use it. The real point of originality is how your deck works as a whole. You can run chaos decks all you want, but personally I think, it’s the end of the line for BLS-EOTB. I mean Painful Choice – Gone, and with D.Duo back, it ’s real hard to keep him in your hand. However, you can slip BLS into many decks, and he will work. (Exodia, Burn, Machine, ect.) You don’t, and should really need to base your WHOLE deck around one measly card. So try making a neat deck with BLS. Try warriors, or zombies, or something, and see how it works. Now, I myself am running a Horus/Sacred Pheonix Deck right now, and it seems pretty good. But I am striving to make myself the “under-rated Gravekeeper’ s Deck”. I just love to see how people cope with common gravekeeper’s while they can’t revive or retrieve any M/T cards. I think of myself as being a #4 type because I change my deck whenever something doesn’t feel right. You should try it once in a while. DDWL getting removed before BLS-EOTB can come out. Try thunder-dragons. They are easy chaos-food, and are morph-able. That’s just one example of how you can change around your deck to see what’s right for you. I also really don’t see why people get so upset about putting commons in their decks. It’s not like they will catch fire or something. Commons are becoming progressively better, and even have decks built around them. So, give commons a try. Don’t forget about doing what feels right. And most of all, have fun. Happy dueling for now, DDM
