GSun's Article No. 9 - Legendary Jujitsu Master & A Fiend Deck ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: "Alex Augunas" Date: Mon, 28 Mar 2005 18:32:43 -0500 Duel Monsters Monster Look Ats GSun2539266337@msn.com Article No. 9 - Legendary Jujitsu Master & Fiend Deck Ever feel adventurous? Well, I did so I decided to change the format of the articles. Occasionally I get E-mails asking me to make decks. At first I though, "Geez, can't they get a deck-garage person do do it for them? Why me?" I mentioned this to my brother, and he said I should just be glad people think I can help, so I had to make a new system. So, from now on, I'll fix people's decks or even inspire them. (ever need that? I have) As payment though, after you tell me what kind of deck you want, you must mail a Chaos Emperor Dragon to me. Yeah right. No, just give me a card you want me to look at and your done. However, I'll probably get back to you with the deck than the article. So, kudos to annie0913@bellsouth.net for dragging me into deck building. Luckily for everyone, I'm better at making decks for others then myself, lol. So, on with the lucky deck! Please remember, most of these decks have never been played and I prefer decks that aren't Cookie-cutter. Monsters 1x Dark Ruler Hades 3x Archfiend Soldier 2x Dark Necrofear 3x Kuriboh 3x Bistro Butcher 1x Sangan Spells 1x Graceful Charity 1x Pot of Greed 1x Snatch Steal 1x Lightning Vortex 2x Dragged Down into the Grave 1x Delinquent Duo 2x Gravekeeper's Servent 1x Mystical Space Typhoon 1x Heavy Storm 1x Premature Burial 1x Noblemen of Crossout 2x Smashing Ground/Fissure Traps 1x Heavy Slump 1x Bubble Crash 1x Ring of Destruction 1x Call of the Haunted 1x Mirror Force 2x Return from the Different Dimension Other 1x Greed/Null and Void/ Drop off/Card Destruction The thing that may stand out to many people is the 'Dragged Down into the Grave'. I thought this card was perfect for this deck. If you don't know what the card is, here. DRC-EN084 Dragged Down into the Grave SPELL You and your opponent look at each other's hands, select one card from each other's hands and discard them to the graveyard, and each draw 1 card. The point is very simple. Fill your hand with cards you don't care about and activate this card. Sadly, it lowers your resources by one, but it thins your opponent's deck while helping you out. Opponent deck thinners rarely do that. If that wasn't enough, you can send potential Necro-food to the graveyard. There are also two unique devastation cards in this deck. 'Bubble Crash' ands 'Heavy Slump'. LOD-EN090 Bubble Crash TRAP This card can be activated when any player has 6 or more cards on the field and/or in their hand. The player(s) must then select and send cards on their side of the field or in their hand until the amount remaining on the field and in their hand is 5. SOD-EN054 Heavy Slump TRAP You can only activate this card when your opponent has 8 or more cards in his or her hand. You opponent adds their hand to their deck, shuffles, and draws 2 cards. Bubble crash has the potential to be a very scary card. It's mass devastation to both players. I used to play this card, and when I did I noticed many players would either save their hand and trash their field or trash their hand and save their field. That helps you out so very much. With no hand, is can destroy the threats at hand, your opponent has no counters. If they destroy their field, that makes the deck devastation so much easier. With only a hand, they can defend themselves in the future, but with proper planning they may not last that long. The key is, when it's played, to properly manage both hand and field. Note: A Skilled player will always try to destroy at least 5 cards with this effect. Now, looking at the theme, Heavy Slump seems to negate the deck's point. However, by putting the cards back into the deck, you don't have to worry about the cards for a little while and your opponent may be a little less hesitate to let you damage him with Bistro Butcher, one of this deck's key players. This is not your typical Fiend deck. People think of fiends such as 'Dark Jeroid' when they think of a fiend deck, but a deck devastation fiend deck seems rather effective, doesn't it? Now, onto the Legendary Jujitsu Master. AST-EN017 Legendary Jujitsu Master EARTH/lvl 3/Rock 1300 ACK/ 1800 DEF A monster that battles with this defense-position monster is returned to the top of the owner's deck at the end of the damage step. In case you want to see what the people at the COTD said, here it is: http://www.pojo.com/yu-gi-oh/cotd/2005/2005Feb/14.shtml. This card has potential, there's no doubt about that. However, it's difficult to just slap into any deck. It's an Earth monster, so naturally Chaos wants nothing to do with it most of the time. It's a rock monster, an under-developed type (until The Lost Millennium *insert diabolical laugh here*) so it doesn't get much help there. The defense is only mediocre, 1800 defense won't hold off the bad boys for long. 1300 attack can't even suicide with Don Zaloog. As with most monsters, though, the effect makes or breaks a card. In this case LJM, as I'll call him, has a super-powerful effect. The only cards that have even remotly similar effects are 'Kelbek' and 'Wall of Illusion' which both send attcking monsters to the owner's hand. Sending a card to the deck is much more effective then sending it to the hand. You opponent is forced to draw that same card again, and on the following turn it may be useless. Whats more, this card is actually benefited by having such a low attack strength. You can play 'Heart of Clear Water' on it. Heart of Clear Water makes a monster with 1300 attack or less unable to be destroyed in battle as long as the monster is equipped with 'Heart of Clear Water'. If you want to be evil, then play cards like 'Spirit Barrier', and 'Rare Gold Armor'. It's a lot of work, but now you have an monster that can't die in battle, can't harm you, and is the only monster that can be attacked. Instead of 'Rare Gold Armor' you could play 'Stauch Defender' to force all of your opponent's monsters to attack the LJM, and now your opponent is delayed even more. All of those traps and equip cards is a little much though. Your probably going to be better off setting this monster and playing 'Waboku'. Like with 'Wall of Illusion' and 'Kelbek' the monster is still effected by the monster's effect because 'Waboku' doesn't negate the damage, it merely reduces the damage done to zero. This dude does have some combos! However, if your really crazed to make a deck around this guy, wait and build a deck around rock type monsters when The Lost Millennium reaches our shores some time from May to June, because right now the best we have are Cyber Jar, LJM, Sentry Golem, and Statue of the Aztecs. So, I'm hoping that with my new system I can help out more people, get more cards to review, and help enrich the Yu-gi-oh! Community with new ideas and deck builds. I don't know about other duelists, but at the store were I duel, many people salute duelists who play with different themes and win. Just remember that most of my decks are made up right here on my computer, so they've never been play tested. If someone decides to build one of my deck, please tell me how it works and if you modify it in anyway please send me the list and I'll try to post it. I love new ideas in this game and look forward to see how people change my ideas to make them work better. Here are some tips if you want some speedy help from me. First, write in decent English. I can handle missing capital letters and commas but I don't want something like this: YO DoG! I waz 'opin U could fin This Deck 4 ME. Also, please make the purpose of your message clear. Don't write: Make me a Warrior Deck. Big Eye. I'll have no clue what you're talking about. Finally, if you want to correct me, don't make it sound too horribly mean. NO CURSING!!! YOU WILL BE BLOCKED IF YOU CURSE ME OFF AT ANY DEGREE. -Gsun (In case anyone cares, Gsun is short for Golden Sun, one of my favorite video games :-) )
