Card Reviews+Rant Anteaus Okay, since there are so many card reviews going around today, I guess I might as well do one too. I mean, why not, right? Anyway, I'll only do a couple before I go into a huge long rant about something or other, so here it goes: 1) Don Zaloog Ever since the banlist came out and everyone switched to Advanced Format, Don Zaloog has fallen by the wayside. Even in Warrior Decks, he's been replaced with Command Knight and D.D. Warrior Lady. Well, I have several reasons why he is still good Control material:        a) BLS fodder. This is kind of obvious, right? I mean, everyone uses BLS.        b) Hand Disruption. This is his totally awesome effect. You completely control your opponent's hand...what's wrong with that?        c) Can be searched for with Mystic Tomato. What else?        2) Drop Off This card has also fallen off the map in the post-ban world of Yu-Gi-Oh! This card can be devastating (unless, of course, they're running BLS and you chuck a Light monster in there so they can summon it) in threes, believe me. Run it with Kycoo and your guaranteed some goodness. That's about it. I can't really think of any card that I've seen fall off of the mainstream map other than those two, except for maybe Nobleman of Crossout. But even then he's run pretty rampantly. My rant, on the other hand, goes like this: I recently began running Magical Scientist in my deck. After several play attempts, I realized that he just wasn't for me. I could never play him right. And that's what bothered me the most, you see? I see all of these players who run BLS and Scientist, yet lose constantly. Why? Because they don't know the situations that they run best in, and they also don't know how to win with them. The concept is simple: Stick with what you know how to play. Myself, I run a Tomato/Creature Swap deck without BLS, and it runs great! I've ran Mystic Tomato ever since...well, my old Wierdo Control deck (if you read the old Tourney Reports, it had a lot of Warriors...pre-ban of course). I've realized that those little Veggies can really save your ass in a jam, you know that? I run Tomatoes because I know how to run them. I don't run Scientist (well, that's not quite true...I'm still playtesting him) because I don't know how to run him. I know how to counter him, sure, but pulling out the TER or Dark Balter? What good will that do me (I'm sure there are plenty of things it'll do good for me...). So, just remember: Every deck is original; it's the cards in them that make them unoriginal. Originality is a common thing in Yu-Gi-Oh! That's why we have FInal Countdown and Exodia. But it's up to other people to make those decks really work and make them really original. Only then will Yu-Gi-Oh! be returned to its former glory that it once had. Any comments? E-mail me at Anteaus44@aol.com. Cheers, Anteaus
