"Brian Schmittling" Reasoning and Zombie Madness I purchased one of the new Zombie Madness structure decks hot off the shelf. With a few changes, this deck is killer. The main advantage if the Zombie deck is the ability to get high level monsters on the field without tribute. Here are the monsters I’m currently running: Tribute Despair From the Dark x 1 Ryu Kokki x 3 Patrician of Darkness x 1 Vampire Lord x 1 Dark Dust Spirit x 1 Yes that’s right, seven tribute monsters. They are very easy to get out and rarely get stuck in your hand. Patrician of darkness was added for field control since you can redirect your opponent’s attacks. Non Tribute Pyramid Turtle x 3 Spirit Reaper x 3 Cyber Jar x 1 Magician of Faith x 2 That’s 16 monsters total and 7 of those are tribute. With Pyramid Turtle, Call of the Mummy, and Book of Life, you can get the tribute monsters on the field easily. You can also use Change of Heart and Snatch Steal to get tributes. But here is a card the structure deck left out, Reasoning. Reasoning, your opponent calls out a monster level, you draw cards from your deck until you hit a monster. If your opponent guessed the monster level, it is destroyed. If not, it is special summoned onto the field. No tribute is required for tribute monsters. If you notice the monster lineup, there are only 3 level 4 monsters. Most decks are heavy with level 4 monsters. The remaining monsters range from level 1 to level 7. This deck was made for Reasoning. Your opponent is very unlikely to guess the level of the monster. With the addition of Reasoning, the Zombie deck has 12 cards to special summon tribute monsters onto the field, and that is not counting the typical graveyard recursion cards, Monster Reborn, Call of the Haunted, etc. Total madness. It is not unusual to summon 3 monsters on your first turn, and you almost always get to summon 2. Once I managed to summon 5 monsters after the field was cleared by Torrential Tribute. This deck’s swarming ability is amazing with the addition of Reasoning. Comments, thoughts, suggestions brian@koerberturner.com
