Online dueling, The Xperiance, By Xcellence ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: Jen Date: Thu, 21 Apr 2005 16:28:09 -0700 (PDT) We've made it to the big time people. Online dueling, wow. Most Magic players will still deny us as being competitive, but this is a pretty big achievement. Magic has an online game, and now we do to. But is it worth the money? Is this going to be a turning point in dueling history? Well here's my view on this conspiracy in the making, or a turning point for all of duelists. Once you enter the site you will most likely be asked to install Japeneese text support, unless you have already. I just ignore it, each and every time it pops up. On the site we get this little entrance video that no one cares about, sort of like skull servant. You click on your nation, last time I checked I was American, but I think I'll click on Canada. In summary of my experience (I'm not continuing because it wouldn't be very entertaining for you, if you were looking to be bored out of your mind however, go buy a hamtaro dvd) of looking at this game, I was surprised, though I should've been, when I realized that you had to pay. Just like the Magic online game I was expected to dish out cash from my already empty piggy bank (playing yugioh is like putting a hole in your pocket full of money, and yes I have a piggy bank) to pay for virtual cards. Oh joy, another way to spend money I could be using to pay for my college education. I will now go into excrutiating detail about what the heck you are paying for! Basically you buy duelpasses with your credit card or in my case my loving parents credit card (*hopes parents are reading this*). On the site it says "With the duelpass150 you get 150 duel points and 5 cards" gosh, and I thought I got 2 duel points from a 150 duelpass, what a deal! So I click on purchase duel pass and I have to log in. (ahhh! more summarizing!). So, I do. Here is the whole Duelpass150 deal: • Product: DUELPASS 150 • Product specifications: (1) You get 150 DUELPASS Points. (2) You get 5 cards which can be used in Yu-Gi-Oh! ONLINE. • Price: USD: 14.99 There we have it folks. 14.99, ouch. 5 cards and some stupid points for 15 dollars. Am I the only one who is going to stick to buying real, actual cards? I hope not. Also, just an interesting tidbit of information, the example name on the example credit card is David Konami. Heh. So without further analysis (I am not wasting my--no more like my parent's money to buy the game and actually play it. I'm not paying 15 dollars to write another few paragraphs of this article, I hope you understand) I woudn't buy this game. To get a 40 card deck at this rate you would need 119.92 dollars. Whoa, and I thought a real deck was pricy. Well guys, this is all the time Xcellence has for today. But I love to hear your opinion, even if you hate my guts. I mean I hate them too, they're all squishy. But before I go I would like to make a little article dedication to two of my good pojo friends. Vicapprentice and Regnr8, you guys are the bomb. -Jen __________________________________________________
