The Dark Magician. But what is the point without a backup plan? THAT IS WHY YOU NEED the newer cards to help him out. Dark Magician decks can be very powerful if they are played properly. What I have shown is a Beatdown style Dark Magician deck. The main focus in my opinion is the Skilled Dark Magician. LVL 4, 1900 atk, and the ability to bring out a powerful Dark Magician. What's not to like? The Apprentice Magicians, Spirit Reapers, and Scapegoat will provide defense for you, because you aren't going to get the big guns out ALL the time. Double Coston is essential in this deck, because it can bring out a Dark Magician or a DMoC really easily. Your main power focus in this deck is the DMoC. Girl can help too, but only if you've got DM's in the graveyard. Because of the banned list, Tribe-Infecting Virus, or Lightning Vortex, will be the raigeki. You don't really need a Mirror force in here, or any Equip cards, they just take up space. Same thing with Breaker the Magical Warrior. It's a good card, but if you're playing him make sure you've got the Dust Tornado gone. RoD and Trap of Board Eraser is a good combo to destroy your opponent's life points and deck while leaving you unharmed. USE IT. I suggest a Jinzo in this deck as well, but take out the 7 Tools first. The Creature Swap cards are good with your weaker monsters, which you have a fair amount of. Scapegoat, Apprentice Magician, Old Vindictive Magician, etc. Give them a crap monster and get a good one in return. So... after all the removal, etc, if you want to play a really good dark magician deck i suggest the following: DMoC Dark Magician (2-3) Dark Magician Girl (optional) Jinzo, only if playing 2 dark magicians though Skilled Dark Magician (3) Double Coston (2) Tribe-Infecting Virus Apprentice Magician (3) Old Vindictive Magician Penguin Soldier Spirit Reaper (2) Magician of Faith (THIS WILL BE NEEDED!) (1-3, 1 is best choice) (optional) Cyber Jar Heavy Storm MST Creature Swap (1-2) Lightning Vortex Scapegoat (1-2) (optional, although it is handy) Monster Reincarnation POT OF GREED (optional) Graceful Charity (optional) United We Stand (optional) Mage Power Dark Magic Attack (IMPORTANT!) Sage's Stone (IMPORTANT!) Dedication through Light and Darkness (VERY HANDY!) (optional) Nobleman of Crossout (optional) Swords of Revealing Light (MAKE SURE YOU EITHER HAVE SWORDS OF REVEALING LIGHT OR WALL OF REVEALING LIGHT) (optional) Wall of Revealing Light Magic Cylinder (optional) mirror force (optional) RoD (Don't use Trap of Board Eraser without RoD) (optional) Trap of Board Eraser Interdimensional Matter Transporter (good when used against cyber jar) Bottomless Trap Hole (extra defense!) Call of the Haunted (pretty handy) Torrential Tribute (Dark hole!) Magic Jammer (bye bye lightning vortex) 7 Tools of the Bandit (see ya later mirror force) The Dark Magician Deck is actually very strong, if played properly. The deck above is just about the best I can make for a Spellcaster Beatdown theme. You might want to include a Magical Scientist or something like that, and some fusions, but I don't suggest it. Again, the Apprentice Magicians are very vital. White Magician Pikeru helps too. I also suggest you use ONLY 40 CARDS!!! DO NOT FORGET THAT! Feel free to E-Mail me, or contact me on AOL Instant Messenger, for any more advice. That information is posted below. Thank you, and you are welcome for the ideas. I am also "fluent" or semi-"fluent" in Dragons, Warriors, Chaos, DMoC-themed, Gate Guardian, Vamp Lord, Injection Fairy Lily, Stall, some Burn, Fiends, Beatdown, Toon, Spell Counter, Archfiends, and Exodia (beatdown, stall, and burn styles of exodia). Of course this isn't a deck by an official deck maker, so if you disagree, okay. I'm fine with that. Feel free to add cards and delete cards. blacksabbithian@yahoo.com e-mail EvilJediM aim name
