Ill make each tip a seperate sentence for easier reading. Dont be to nervous. If you know the game and have your deck where you want it just play and see what happens. If you get to nervous it will affect your gameplay. Dont flash your deck to everyone who asks unless uve already played them and they know it all anyway. I saw so many people showing off there decks beforehand runing any edge they might have had. This includes dueling beforehand, dont bother. You will be dueling all day, save ur brain a little. If you think you still need to playtest, you already doomed. If you anticipate a big event bring a lunch, If i hadnt met someone i knew from the local scene i wouldve went 10 hours without eating. Between rounds isnt much time if your game isnt over fast and you might not be close to a restauraunt. If you plan on bringing lots of cards to trade, do yourself a favor and bring a backpack or something like one. That way you wont have to hold it all waiting in line, or worry about dropping things. While dueling u can put it ont he back of ur chair if space is crapmed, and its harder to steal when they have to go digging through the pack to get to your cards. Checks the graveyards every turn, you can determine whats already been played, and if you have to use premature burial or something they wont automatically know since u check every turn. If you know whats there you know what u dont have to worry about right now as well. Triple check deck lists. List all of your cards, readable, fusion and side deck included. It saves alot of time as well if you already registered with an ude number. Any sanctioned tourney store can get u signed up. Have ur fusion and side deck ready, its looks fishy when u go digging through them. If you prefer to leave them in a card box ask if they mind or not, they probably wont. When u go to sign the win sheet and u won, double check their name is signed and you are marked the winner, than take the slip where it goes yourself so theres no tampering. Me friendly, shake hands and congradulate. Losing isnt the end of the world, dont slam cards or ur things or curse. Its a game and lots of kids will be there. Set a good example. If the head judge gives a ruling, thats it. you might as well except it even if he or she is wrong. You can try to explain but dont take forever. If your opponent stalls call a judge on them, its an illegal tactic and should be penalized, at the very least they can watch a moment to ensure it doesnt happen again. Well thats about all i can think of. Be on time or early and ready to duel. Have fun and good luck all.
