Hello readers! As you know I'm Diabound from the Top 10's I've decided to
leave that section and start writing you guys articles. Well as you know
the banlist is upon (well, has been now for oh say roughly 3-4 weeks) us
and new decks have been popping up all over. I'm gonna breakdown the deck
types you are most likely to see in your Regional and National tournaments.
Mind you, these decks follow the banlist to the exact point, if you thought
Chaos decks were broken now, wait 'til you see some of these in Advanced,
they absolutely blast through all oposition.

First of we have CCCC, for those of you who do not know what this is, its
Cookie-Cutter Chaos Control. This will spread like a plague across the U.S.
just
like Chaos/Control did. It was also used in the World Championships by most
of the finalists. This is the most absolute broken deck in this format. It
combines most of the mainstream decks together into one beast of a deck.
Think of
first fighting against Goblin Attack Forces, then Don Zaloogs, only to run into
Black Luster Solider-Envoy of the Beginning. Its a bad thought.
However as
you all know most decks have a weakness, or what I call a flawed point. This decks
formost weakness is a small one, and I consider its weakness a Gravekeeper deck.
Gravekeepers offer graveyard control (against Envoys), Field control (to an extent,
Gravekeeper's Guards), Trample (Gravekeeper's Spear Soldier) and Swarm
(Gravekeeper's Spy). That's at least 4 elements this deck type offers against a
broken deck types in our new format.

Next we have Control, a simple deck type. It usually runs Don Zaloogs, Kycoo
the Ghost Destroyers, and the like. You'll find them both destroying your hand
and removing your graveyard faster than you can say "Well...nevermind". They
usually can be run over by a Cookie-Cutter, in some cases Control can destroy
another Control. There's also going to be a new type of Control deck running
around now, it's called Mind On Air Control, which offers full hand control.
It revolves around Mind on Air ( a new SOD card which allows you to constantly
view your opponent's hand) and the hand disruptors left over from the banlist
(D.D. Designator, Confiscation, etc.) and a few new cards from the new set (Mind
Crush, Mide Wipe etc.). This deck will either be rare or a plague in your area,
for the most part it won't see Regional or National play, if it does you can
walk up to me and say "I told you so".

Now we're onto the most annoying(yet powerful) deck type that's roaming the
banlist deck types. Its a deck type called Burn, and let me tell you, these
decks are annoying as they come. Think of dropping from 8000 to 4300 in one
turn, yeah, its bad. These decks are hard to control, because they focus on
locking you down and getting rid of you very quickly. If you're lucky a good
hand of Spell and Trap Control will give you and early advantage, for the
most part, some Control decks (Mind on Air especially) can hold these decks
down until you get the situation under control.

Stuck in the middle we have Gravekeepers, which I mentioned as the weakness
to CCCCs (in my opinion they are). These monsters have a variety of things
you can get out of them, however these bonuses revolve around Necrovalley,
a field card from Pharonic Guardian and also a Promo. Necrovalley gives all
these guys a +500/500 ATK/DEF boost, which is avery large bonus for these
cards (most of them start at around 1000-1500 ATK). They also have the
ability to switch the battle positions of monster's they're fighting
(Gravekeeper's Assailant) and use a Fairy Meteor Crush effect (Gravekeeper's
Spear Soldier). Did I forget to mention they have thier own form of revival?
Its called Rite of Spirit which isn't affected by Necrovalley whereas Monster
Reborn, Premature Burial, Call of the Haunted are. These guys are simply
put an all around dominating deck type to use in Advanced format, they will
do good for you if you use them good, I highly recommend using either Curse
of Royal or Magic Relfector to protect Necrovalley.

Finally we have Warriors, which will be a very competitive deck type in
the coming months. You saw them before, now you're going to see plenty
more of them in Advanced Format. They're going to gaining alot more support
than they have now (Mystic Swordsman LV.6, which creates a lock) in the
  coming sets.
They
can easily revive themselves (Warrior Returning Alive), swarm (Maruading
Captain), boost (Command Knight), stall (Command Knight and M.Captains).
That's a
very wide variety of ways this deck can be effective. It also has an Envoy in
its ranks, you'll more likely see Chaos/Warrior hybrids more than pure Warriors.
This is a big contender along with the other 3 deck types I mentioned.

Well that's it for my first article guys (and girls), I hope you enjoyed it.
More articles will be coming soon! Email me with suggestions if you want to,
I enjoy and feedback. Please do not Instant Message me for help with Deck/Fixes
or duels, I most likely will not be able to help you. Hate mail is deleted, Fan
mail is always read and (most of the time) replied to. Thanks for reading,

Diabound,

P.S. My next article will most likely be about the best cards to use in
certain deck types discussed in this article (Warrior, Burn, etc.), however
if you have any suggestions let me know, I don't want to do fanfics though,
I'd rather keep it serious some of the time and have fun every now and then.
