The Future of THE Game. Sting Yu-Gi-Oh! is not A game, right now it is THE game. Yu-Gi-Oh, in my opinion, is the BEST card game that has been introduced to the World (well it's a tie between Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh but magic has been here for 10 years). So what makes this game fun? What caught your eye the very first time you saw the game and what got you into it? This game already has hundreds of cards and its only been out since 2002 (in English) and how many different cards did we see at Worlds this year? Maybe 80? and thats being generous. Reading these tips at Pojo expresses alot about what the Yu-Gi-Oh playing population thinks about the Ban List, Originality, and Chaos decks. I've read articles expressing opinions and thoughts for and against the Ban List, and both sides have expressed some good points... but alot don't. Many do not think deep into what this game has been like, what it is now, and what will help it in the future. The people against the Ban List complain that it takes away there cards they worked so hard for and gives the "crappier" players a chance with their "crappy" cards. The people for the Ban List complained before it came out that Yu-Gi-Oh! was a "rich" man's game and that there was no originality. Listen. Both are wrong. People For the Ban List Before the Ban List there were two decks that basically "ruled all" and were the metagame. Chaos and Control, no doubt about it. These are the decks that could win the most constantly and are the decks that won tournaments, what can we say. So you guys against them, what were people suppose to do? Change there deck totally and try something "orginal" while some guy who doesn't want to, comes in and slaughters them all? Theres no point to it. The object of the game is to make the BEST deck possible (which was Chaos and Control) to try and WIN. Sure, some may choose to play a different deck and try and tweek it as good as possible and try to beat the Chaos and Control decks, that's what I did. Sure there are alot of people who make "fun" decks and thats their choice, I've done it too, but your teling everyone to go out an basically make a "fun" deck instead of having a REALLY REALLY good deck. Pointless. You could have got those rare cards if you tried hard enough, even without much money. I did. I don't play with Chaos or Control, never did, but I never said "don't play choas" just so my "original" deck could stand up to them and beat them. People Against the Ban List Now, the people who oppose the Ban List, why? Why is what I ask? You got your rare cards and then got them taken away right? So. Everyone else did too. Everyone. Deal with it. This Ban List is GOOD for the game of Yu-Gi-Oh! It might hurt your deck right... might totally ruin your plan? SO WHAT! By releasing this Ban List Upper Deck and Konami has just made a great move for the game of Yu-Gi-Oh! This list just broke apart the two most powerful decks, WHICH ALMOST EVERY TOURNAMENT COMPETITOR HAD so don't even try saying "I had the most powerful deck and Upper Deck ruined it for me." You act like it hurt you the most even though the game got to be luck of the draw AND THAT'S IT. I live near Arlington Texas and thats where I go to enter some serious tournaments. The people there are the best in the state, i guarantee it, and a ton of them went to Nationals. Problem is, they have mono-decks, ditto-decks, look-at-the-winner-and-copy-them-exactly-decks. They are all the same, so basically whoever draws the best wins the game (unless they made some stupid mistakes). Of course they were all Chaos and the reason they had that deck is beause it was the BEST deck, like i said earlier. When they released this Ban List they eliminated this same-exact-deck problem and opened a lot more cards up for playability. Now, for atleast a couple of months, you will see alot of different deck ideas showing up in tournaments again. For those of you who think this just gave every or a lot of decks the power to win tournaments... yea right. Your wrong. In advanced format there still is a BEST deck that will really be the most productive in winning, there always will be no matter WHAT Upper Deck or Konami does. People just have to find it... and once they do they will tweek it little by little, find out the best version of it, and then Whalla! In a few months guess what... a new mono deck will show up which ALOT of people will begin to make for the crave of winning. I have a pretty good idea of what the deck will be too, and what the 2nd best deck will be. It will always be like this. In fact the best thing Upper Deck and Konami could do is to go the Magic the Gathering way and Ban cards every so often. I say every two years would be a good time for them to ban a few more Yu-Gi-Oh cards, who knows maybe even less time than that would be good. OPEN YOU EYES PEOPLE. This Ban List is GOOD. And for those people who absolutely refuse to give up their Chaos or Control deck, you have traditional tournaments... IS THAT NOT GOOD ENOUGH!?! PLEASE! Understand the Past, Present, and especially Future of your Yu-Gi-Oh! card game. I expect, now, to get a lot of E-mail. :) The dumb ones will of course try to "bash" me and will not see the truth as it is told, and the smart ones will agree, knowing what this game has in store for us.
