Comparing Exodia Decks with Exodia Necross Decks - Vic Apprentice I'm back again with an article this time instead of a rant. This article is an excerpt from an e-mail that I responded to about someone asking me whether putting Exodia Necross in their Exodia deck might be a good idea. "As to your Exodia deck, I believe that an Exodia deck is entirely different from an Exodia Necross deck. An exodia deck specializes in getting the cards to your hand (obviously). However, an Exodia Necross deck utilizes cards like Painful Choice in order to force the pieces into your graveyard. It's hard to attempt both strategies in one deck, because you're not quite sure which strategy to go with. Good decision making can work to some extent, but even the best player can't control luck unless he cheats, and then it's not luck at all. "I find the goal of Exodia Necross decks much easier to complete because it's easy to stick the pieces face-down on the field or use cards like Painful Choice. However, once your opponent realizes what you're doing, he may attempt to remove the pieces from play rather than send them to the graveyard. This is entirely possible with the current meta-game. "However, in regular Exodia decks, your opponent may not even know that you're running an Exodia deck until it's too late do to the fact that for the most part he can't see your hand. Regular Exodia decks are safer but much harder to execute. However, with cards like Backup Soldier, it's possible to bluff your opponent. Sending your cards to the graveyard on purpose might make him await Necross, when all of the sudden you use Backup Soldier and the last three pieces are in your hand. However, still be wary of your opponent trying to get your cards out of play. "Also, regular Exodia decks have a much larger element of surprise. Many combos that players use these days can somewhat delicate and require a few turns to set up. It has been my experience with Exodia decks that I'm usually in the middle of trying to lock my opponent when he gets his last piece. This alone might make regular Exodia decks better because you can draw the last piece at any time, even if you are in a lock." Questions? Comments? I'll take any e-mail whether it be flames or praises. E-Mail: vicapprentice@yahoo.com AIM: Vic Apprentice __________________________________
