Subject: Alex P's tip on deck constuction and cards Hi all I'm back now I'm gonna give some tips on making a good deck. I'll also be talking about trading and getting cards. 1: focus on a theme! this maybe a bit confusing i don't mean like choose an element and base your deck. i mean don't just slop together cards because you think they'll work or you'll coincidentally just have the cards you need. if you look at a card and say "well what if my opponent..." it's not a good card to use 2: listen to possible deck types. Once again if your not sure of what to do don't slop something together. If your low on money try to find a deck type you can use. Amazons gravekeepers light and toon decks can all be cheaply assembled and are powerful decks. 3: do NOT run sacrifice monsters with no reason: how many times have you seen that little kid sacrificing his La jinn for that doma the angel of silence? 1 sac monsters are good but you must know what to use. here are my opinions of worthwhile 1 sac monsters: Summoned Skull: ATK is unmatched Jinzo: it's Jinzo....need I say more? Airknight Parshath: when it destroys a monster you draw a card sounds good to me Labyrinth wall/Millenium shield: oh no! Your Dark elf is attacking my face down card....wow that's a lot of life points. Depending on your deck type there are others (EX: gravekeepers: Gravekeepers chief) this is just an in general list. 4: Do NOT play 2 sac monsters unless you have an EXTREMLY good reason: 2 sac monsters are powerful but they lose an insane amount of feild control and are easily destroyed. there are very few useful 2 sac monsters but here's a list Blue eyes white dragon: 3000.....that's a lot Barrel dragon: 2/3 chance of destroying a monster= good, then you can attack=VERY good Lava gloom: ok it's not REALLY a 2 sac monster but it's still not bad Mystic knight of Jackal: any card that can mess with your opponents drawing and be optional is good. Dark magican/Buster blader: with all their new power ups and ways to get them out their hardly 2 sacs anymore 5:unless your deck's based on em don't use fusion's or rituals: I'm not saying these aren't good. I'm just saying you can't just throw them in your deck without some strategy behind it and expect them to work. Now for some tips on getting cards i know everyone isn't rich so these are some good tips for those on a budget. 1: TRADE! i cannot stress this enough if you have cards you don't need ask around and talk to people to see if they have the cards you need. don't be hanging onto your injection fairy lily because "it's rare" or "it looks cool" that card could get you numerous awsome cards. 2: Buy packs SPARINGLY: if you havn't noticed packs are getting pretty expensive. quite frankly i wouldn't buy packs unless: they're having a sale. they cost 3.50 or less or i get them free. as i said above trade chances are people will have what you are looking for you just have to look for them. 3: buy singles: i'm not saying buy every card you need to make your deck. i'm saying if you need some trade bait or REALLY need a card bad buy it. but do not rip yourself off price guides are not always right. if your a serious play do you think serpent knight dragon is a playable card because it's a secret rare and expensive? 4: look at usefulness not rarity: do not be trading good cards away just because you want a shiny summoned skull or monster reborn. if a card looks to good to be true it probably is or has some catch to it.
