Subject: tip correction, my straty, etc... OK, this is long, but I figured better one long post than clogging the lines with bunches. Please post this. When you get to the bottom you will understand why I want to get the word out. So, in 3 parts, here it is: 1 I have seen a few tips posted here on Pojo that states you can equip a monster with Heart of Clear Water to endlessly feed cannon soldier's effect. I thought this was great. But thanks to pojo (little brownnoser, ain't I?) I got turned onto Edo and ran across a ruling thet they, in turn, researched through UD. Here, I've pasted it directly from their page: Heart of Clear Water [j. A Mind That Reflects As Water] Category: ???? Type: Equipment * Tributing is NOT the same as destroying, so a Monster equipped with this card won't remain on the Field if Tributed. * Remember that Tributes are not targeted either, so that "combo" with this card on a Monster, and trying to Tribute it over and over with [Cannon Soldier] or [Catapult Turtle] will NOT work. If Im right, I believe that also eliminates the self cyling combo for Exiled Force, si o no? 2 Ive been working on some of these cards in a burner type bum rush. Im also working on a Zombie and card/deck disruptor, but this is my favorite. I particularly enjoy comboing (is that a word?) a Black Pendant or 2 to either Giant Germ or N.Momonga. Suicide that for swarm and its a two for one. Toss in a couple of Bubonic Vermin and there is plenty of fuel for Cannon Soldier. Iknow, Iknow. Youre thinking "Huh?!, Is this guy serious, Bubonic Vermin? Puleez!" But hear me out. Im working on a sickness theme that doesn't rely so much on the mainliners. Dont get me wrong, nothing wrong with those Jinzos, MST, GE, RoD, Yata yadda yadda. But Im looking for some flavor. All the tips I see are getting bland. So, besides the forementioned Giant Germ, Nimble, Bubonic V., TIV, CS, & HoCW Ive added some of the following: Ekibyo Drakmord Kiseitai (j. Soul Parasite) Vengeful Bog Spirit Swarm of Locusts Swarm of Scarabs Germ Infection Yes, Vile Germ is there too. You guess which plant monster gets the props. There are other types as well but Im not naming types and # of copies; that varies to taste. I will let you know that two unusual entries that work for me are Gift of the Magical Elf and Chain Energy. I can hear your confusion. But look back at some of the choices and use your imagination to fill the blanks, its fun! (HINT: find cards that put magic back in your hand). It seems a little choppy but Ive been able to get things lightning fast and then stall my opponent till the next turn. It feels like when you first learn to drive a stick shift. My deck can include a couple of high level pounders and varies between 40-60 cards depending on my mood. (imagine a cute, playful kitten with rabies). And, I can't wait (!!!), for that Deck Destruction/Crush/ whatever they end up calling it card to come floating into my life out of nowhere like Ebola. There's plenty of 1000ATK and less monsters I can take advantage of. Ooh, Ooh. Before you get this idea in your head there is NO Gravity Bind or MoP here. I want "different" not subservient. I told you I wanted to veer away from too many mainers. Operative statement being "too many". I will admit to having some cards seen everywhere (MR, WotBF, Critter (who thought up Sangan anyways?), GC, Painful choice (personal fav), and so on. But I usually side deck those for the first round. Gives the other cards play time and really surprises my opponents on round 2 when they come out. 3 This is a call out for advice from all you oldschoolers. I am a teacher in Guatemala (like my deck didn't make you go "Huh?~!"). I am considering offering an afterschool club for teaching the next ones, who have cards but dont understand much about the game and giving everyone a chance to come together, trade, play, and be all hippie like (god help us). There's no opportunity to get UD tourneys and stuff here (heh, heh, small favors) so I want to do this indie style while following the same rules all you stateside go by. Cards are twice the price here at least (think close to 10$ a pack! And you thought you had it bad) and I see no reason they should just collect dust. Im not new to the game, but some of them are. Knowing it and explaining it are two different things. So, for all you out there who happen to read this: If you have deck type builder advice, straightfoward strategies, and ideas to get something like this going smoothly, or if you know someone who does (and has the time) email me, Squid. Especially if it can be done without all the fancy bits, since those are impossible to find here. Most of these kids will be working off of starter decks, occasional packs, and trades from those self same packs. My own deck is probably the most unusual and varied. The address is: mhunter@cm.edu.gt However, all you ranters, ravers, player haters can stick it. I've got no use for you, especially if your vocabulary and thought processes consist of whiney, four letter words and an inability to present a well justified opinion without belittling someone else. That's why the delete key was invented. If your language and lack of intelligent communication are an indication of your skills in a duel, its no wonder you're so second rate. (Did I just bash? oops.) Oh well, its time to stop this mile long message and let all of us get back to things. Big up to all the Magic: The Gathering players. Im out.
