Subject: Earth Ultra Speed

Hello Everybody. Hi Dr. Nick! This is my new pseudonym, and I like it, so don’t complain. I happen to be the person who wrote such memorable articles as The Gravity of Undeath and Beatdown! Turtle Style. If you happen to like my work, when you see an article by Dr. Nick, it is by the same person. Nuff said. This article will be slightly different from your average job in more ways then the new pseudonym. You see, I like to keep up with things. As most of you know, there are sites on the Internet that hold the spoiler list for the next couple of sets. So I go to them and Yay! I now know all the cards in the next set. Wonderful, isn’t it? So in this article, I’m going to be using cards from the next set. Sorry Pojo.

Anyway, on to the trendy new idea. Ever since LON came out, I have every now and then seen a Gilasaurus Speed Deck crash my way. I’ve beaten a few and been beaten, but the point is that it is a brand new type of beatdown and that excites me so I decided that I would try to perfect the deck. The basis to the deck is two cards Gilasaurus and The Rock Spirit. Both of these cards can be instantly special summoned to the field for instant smackdown. Get four of these monsters and a Gaia Power out in one turn and they’re not going to last long. Trust me on this, I’ve seen it happen before and it ain’t pretty. What I like about this deck is that it’s original. Original and fast. Now its time to add my own personal touch to it to make it shine.

(Remember that I am using cards from the next set. Many you will not have heard of, but I will explain them to you.)

This is in essence an earth warrior deck on steroids. Whenever possible it draws from the warrior theme we will see so much of in Legacy of Darkness. So, of course, we have one of the greatest of them all, the Undefeated General. This monster is lvl.5 2300/1700, but it is so much more then just another Goblin Attack Force. It is immune to targeted magic spells, meaning tribute to the doomed, change of heart and snatch steal won’t work on it, a very good thing. Plus, it allows you to instead of drawing a card put 1 warrior into your hand from your deck. The power of this will be shown later my friends. Next we have Sling troops. On the surface, an excellent 2000 defense monster. Then look at it’s special ability: Sacrifice 1 of your Warrior Sub-Type monsters on the Field to destroy 1 monster on the Field with a defense strength equal to or less than this monster's attack strength. Eh heh he eh heh heh. What does that mean? Even if you have an innocent Kojikocy (God, what a dinosaur! Jeez!) on the field, you can sak it to kill a Jinzo. This is an excellent card, and this deck is full of warriors so you can fully exploit its strength. The next monster is called Initiate Troops. Nothing special, but his ability is a fast, targeted Share the Pain, which is really cool. Next, we have the Troop Commander. This card
reads: While your opponent does not destroy this monster, your other Warrior Sub-Type monsters cannot be attacked. When you Summon this card, you may Special Summon 1 monster with a Level of 4 or less from your hand. See the power? Not only does it fit the speed theme excellently, but it protects your other warriors from attack. The last new card is Angel Injection Lily, which I am assuming will be restricted to one. This nifty card is 400/1500 lvl. 3 that allows you to pay 2000 lifepoints to raise its attack power by 3000 until end of turn.

// I’ll wait a few minutes for you readers to get your jaw off the ground.

This card is basically Bazoo on steroids. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out the use of this card. It’s earth, fast, and cool. Whats not to like? Finally, we add 2 of the Rock Spirit and Gilasaurus. They are for speed, and because they are the basis of the deck. For sheer power we have Bazoo the Soul Eater, just in case you don’t have Angel Injection Lily. We have Gearfried for power, warriorness, and because its bad*ss cool looking (My deck has Gearfried You are free to substitute with either Goblin Attack Force or Gemini Elf if you please). We also have the standard beatdown monsters Cyber Jar and Witch of the Black Forest. A word of advice for the Witch Always search for Angel Injection Lily. Finally, put in Mad Sword Beast for the effect. Most of the time you will use it too take out defenders or it’s attack power will be 1900 so it won’t matter. That’s it for monsters.

On to magic and traps. We have all your standard restricted cards: Raigeki, Dark Hole, Pot of Greed, Monster Reborn, Premature Burial, Mirror Force. We have two Graceful Charities to further speed the deck. DNA Surgery is put into the deck so that you can use the full potential of both Sling Troops and Troop Commander (by changing everything into warriors, naturally see, it all makes sense now). Backup Soldier is there so that you can do another Gilasaurus Rush. Gaia Power is there for obvious reasons Every monster in the deck is earth except Witch of the Black Forest and you want that to die anyway why power it up? Calling Reinforcements is another new card in the deck It allows you to search for any warrior and put it into your hand. Sorry Angel Injection Lily is not a warrior. We have three Fissures for pure destructive power. Substitute with the removal card of your choice if this doesn’t suit your fancy. Finally, we have A Mind That Reflects As Water. Basically, if the monster is lvl. 3 or under, it cannot be destroyed by combat or by targeted magic. This is to be put onto the Troop Commander or Angel Injection Lily. When it is on the troop commander it will protect him from any assault while negating any and all attacks on any of your warriors (The troop commander’s effect), a good thing of course, and you won’t have to pay quite as much life to keep the Angel Injection Lily in play. That is it for the magic and traps.

A good deck. I’ve liked playing it. Not to many game breaking combos but I like to be simple every now and then. It should serve you well, or as well as it has served me, at least. If you have any comments at all about my decks, ideas, world view, (or just hate me lol) you can e- mail me at walsharch@comcast.com I’m finally got CABLE! SCORE!!! MIND YOU HATERS I ALWAYS REPLY. If you wish to know where I got the card info, some I got from Pojo and the rest I got from Edo’s site.
