Subject: The Gravity of Undeath - Nick Thanks to everyone who gave me replies to my last tip. When all was said and done more people thought I was a drug addict then a serious player - All the same, I feel that my work got people to think a bit. Now I am going to look back on an old deck type that has DEFINITELY gone out of style. Remember all of those annoying Zombie decks? Well, now is the time for me to move all my thinking outside the box and controversial ideas to help "unearth" a long forgotten deck type. The ideas for this deck came on like an avalanche. I'll give you the lowdown on the the cards needed to make this very unusaul deck work. GRAVITY BIND. Yes Gravity Bind. Here is the secret and the basis to the whole deck.A VERY LARGE loophow was put into the two main non-tribute zombie attackers out now (the mediocre 1600/0 Dragon Zombie and the 1500/0 Armored Warrior). Both of these monsters have decent attack strengths and the best part of all is that BOTH OF THESE MONSTERS ARE LVL 3!!!!!!!!!!! With a gravity bind on the feild, they can sit in the feild attacking all day quite easily. GAME. THE CASTLE. What is a Zombie deck without the mighty and mysterious Castle of Dark Illusions? This card raises the attack points (and defense points, but that isn't as important here) of all Zombies for four turns. Four turns with a Castle behind it turns a Dragon Zombie a 2400 attack power engine of destruction PERMANENTLY. Killing the Castle doesn't stop the effect. This effect, combined with the Pumpking(gain 100 attack and defense points for four turns if a Castle is out) was the basis of most Zombie decks in Metal Raiders. This deck, of course, lost fashion when Magic Ruler came out, and is seldom played these days. However, the Castle finds a place in my new Gravity Bind Deck. Mystic Plasma Zone compliments the castle nicely. SET. SHADOW GHOUL. This is another zombie based oddity that lost fashion when magic ruler came out. It would use cards like the Cheerful Coffin to empty your hand and then you would play a superpowered Shadow Ghoul. Well, few people actually played this stradegy so it was never much more then an oddity. This deck, however, makes better use of the shadow ghoul then those decks ever did with cards like Cannon Soldier, Last Will, Bubonic Vermin, and Darkness Approaches. I'll deal with the latter first. Cheerful coffins effect is that you discard 3 monster cards from your hand. That's it. While useful in reanimater and Shadow Ghoul decks, it kind of, well, SUX. Darkness approaches is much better. It has a flexibility that the Cheerful coffin can only dream of. Have two monsters and a MoF on the feild? Dump them to the grave and get a magic card via the MoF. Want to make your 2400 atack power Dragon Zombie even stronger? Use it on the Castle to start everything all over again! Cannon Soldier, Last Will and the Bubonic Vermin speed the deck considerably. Use last will and the vermin to gather large amounts of Cannon Fodder. This speeds the deck, often making the win come twice as fast. It also thins the deck, increasing the chance of getting yet ANOTHER Castle to add to your fortress. Finally Magic Jammer, because it fits the discard theme nicely and is absolutely vital to protecting your Gravity Binds from the likes of Heavy Storm and MST (and while we are on the subject, a Fake Trap wouldn't hurt either). And of course, the Shadow Ghoul is another Zombie, so it recieves an ADDITIONAL bonus from the Castle's effect. This can provide insanely powerful monsters without being crippled on equip magics. MATCH. WRAPPPING IT ALL TOGETHER. This deck has several other little peices to make it work. In the beginning, you should play MEB or Wall of Illusions to keep enemy monsters down and stall the opponent until you get Gravity Bind. Then start playing Zombies. Once you have three out, play a Castle (or a Sangan to search for a Castle). Then, start to kick their butts. If you get a Shadow Ghoul out, wait until your Zombies are Superpowers and then use MST on your own Gravity Bind to unleash your Shadow Ghoul. Use Darkness Aproaches to Reflip your Castle, and then pummel to the win! CONCLUSION. This deck is an interesting twist on the classic gravity bind deck which uses Hayabusa Knight and WMH to deal lots of damage when combined with axes and stuff. I played this deck in the last tournament I went to, and it recieved a LOT astonishment (HOLY S**T! he can do that!?) even though it didn't win (No Gravity Bind). I'm not saying to change your deck or anything, but if you are looking for an interesting deck which can REALLY pull off a stupified look on your opponent, consider this deck in your thoughts. As always, if you think my ideas are insane you can e-mail me at walsharch@msn.com. I reply to EVERYTHING my mom doesn't delete as junk mail. I hope to have your input
