Subject: New Joey Starter Review.-Trey Enma With the new starter deck around a month away, you should know why to get these things. Although a lot of hopes were crushed, when we found out that these decks were not the Japaneese Structure decks (Mine included) In no way does this deck compensate for what we could have had, oh well. There are a few cards that put up a reason to buy these decks so I may as well tell you about them. (Note: This is a review on the cards that are useful in most decks, so given the chance, I won't review horrible rare and or common cards from other sets in this review, I also won't include any cards already avalable in the Yugi or Kaiba starters.)Anyways on with the show.... PENGUIN SOLDIER Type: Effect Monster Water/Water/2/750/500 Effect: Flip: Return up to 2 face up monsters on the Field to their owner's hands. This is a great card, already putting Hane-Hane in the gutter, whats not to love about putting 2 monsters back. This is a definate for Exodia decks, where you can revive 2 pieces in case there thrown on the field by cards like Cyber Jar and Morphing Jar #2. As long as they're face up! SCAPE GOAT Type: Quick Play Magic Effect: When you play this card, you can't Summon, Flip Summon or Special Summon any monsters during that turn. Put 4 [Goat Tokens] (Earth/Animal/1/0/0) on the Field in defense mode. (They cannot be tributed to summon.) Imagine using this card with Cannon Soldier, 2000 damage for so little. This wont be restricted either! However you need to play this in place of another monster that you could have played this turn, no doesn't mean you can't summon. You should activate this at the very end of an opponent's turn. . I'd use this in either a very defensive deck or a Cannon Soldier Deck.It can also be used for tribute cost as long as it isn't a Tribute summon, or Ritual Summon!(Axe of Dispair is an example)Of course with the release of United we Stand in Labyrynth of Nightmare you could equip a Cannon Soldier with it, and then activate the Scapegoat POLYMERIZATION Type: Normal Magic Card Effect: Fuse 2 or more specific monsters together. A quite rare card from Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon that allows you to summon certain powerful monsters. Thousand Eyes Restrict and Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon are some of these powerful monsters. In the Future this card will make you able to summon monsters like Black Paladin, who require fusion. This card is better than Fusion Gate in a way as well, this doesn't remove monsters. Fusion Gate, however is easier to use, I do believe that it is a field magic card as well.(Yikes my opponent can use it when I play it. Kind of puts a damper on this hyped card, huh) SEVEN TOOLS OF THE BANDIT Type: Counter Trap Card Effect: At the cost of 1000 Life Points, negate the activation of a trap card and destroy it. If not everyone has this card, then you can get it in this deck. (I supose that we did have to be compensated alittle for the lose of Structure deck Jinzo, so here is the trap negation.) Since the release of Pharoah's Servant, this card has lost quite a bit of power. The environment of traps has grown and now you have to time this card just right, or you'll be open to some serious damage. If you can manage to get one, I'd recommend Jinzo over this card, due to the effect of Jinzo being continous. GIANT TRUNADE Type: Normal Magic Card Effect: Return all Magic and Trap cards to their owner's hands. A super rare card from Magic Ruler that has quite a bit of power, however that power could also be bad if used incorrectly. This card is like an advanced Cold Wave, however it throws card back in to hand instead of stopping the activation of cards, but with the ability to return Swords of Revealing Light and Premature Burial back to your hand, and reuse them, Who wouldn't want it? MAGICIAN OF FAITH Type: Effect Monster Light/Spellcaster/1/300/400 Effect: Flip: Select 1 Magic card from your Graveyard and return it to your hand. This is one of the only common/rare cards that I am going to talk about in this article. You throw a Magic card back to you hand, everyone should know what this card does by now. If you can't find any Metal Raiders packs, then you can get this card here. This is almost a staple card, (Almost) It isn't needed in a deck based on pure Traps, however we don't need to worry about that for a while. (Not pure good traps at least) Watch out for Change Of Heart! GEARFRIED THE IRON KNIGHT Type: Effect Monster Earth/Warrior/4/1800/1600 Effect: Destroy all Equipment cards Equipped to this monster. Two words, hate it. That is just my opinion of the card though. This card can't be equipped with Snatch Steal, thats a good side. However this monster cannot be powered up due to the effects of Equip cards either, another downside is that Witch of the Black Forest can't grab this card. They were my original reasons for disliking this card, it wasn't quite enough to hate it though. Until one fateful day....Dum Dum DUM! LOL... I read about an Infinate loop at EDO's Yugioh Page including this card that can easily win you the game. Grrrr, I'm not going to include the loop though, it might take too much explanation for my article, and I don't want to take too much time... If you feel that you need to know what it is go to www.stormpages.com/edhrzic/Yugioh.htm , then click the review on Eruma. If you use this Loop then you should be picked up, Put in a dog suit, and beaten constantly until you are either dead, or unconcious. .Hate it, Hate it, Hate it.... The rest of the Joey deck are cards that are either too weak, too over hyped (Red Eyes Black Dragon) or were in the first starter decks. This deck, for the most part was an embarassment to the Wheeler Name, JOEY: Come on Upperdeck , my deck's better than this. Kaiba, So it was you! KAIBA: Ha ha ha, this deck is more than worthy of your name hahahahahahaha. Now lick boot dog.... JOEY: GRRRRRR! Kaiba you sleezy slime bucket! KAIBA: HA HA HA HA HA Uh, before I continue rambling on, I will say that this, at least is better than the first two starter decks. Of course they were made out of the Jap EX-R set, but still these two are better than those decks. I'm Getting ready to work on the Review of the Pegasus deck...
