Subject: Three new archtypes - The Controler of Chaos Three New Archtypes Hi! This is my first Pojo CCG Tip (I really Hope this gets posted). I'm going to talk about the three new archtypes that will be created with the next set: Magician's Force (MFC for short?). The three new archtypes (for the n00bs, archtype means deck type) are Union, Amazoness, and Black Paladin. In this post I'm going to tell you guys what they do, and the pros and cons to each type. Unions: Relys on effect monsters called Unions. A Union is an effect monster that allows it to change into an Equip Magic card and equip to a monster on the field. When Equiped, the Union monster adds a special effect and/or stat boost to the Equipped monster. When the Equipped monster is destroyed as a result of battle or by an effect, the Union monster is destroyed in its place. Also, a Union monster can unequip or equip once per turn. Pros: * Every Union gets a stat change and/or a poisitive effect. * Has a lot of support. * The has a lot of strong monsters, even with out the Unions. * Contains probably the most powerful fusion in the game: XYZ-DRAGON CANNON Type: Fusion/Effect Monster Light/Machine/8/2800/2500 [X-Head Cannon] + [Y-Dragon Head] + [Z-Metal Caterpillar] Remove the required Monsters on your Field from the game in order to Special Summon this Monster (the [Fusion] card is not needed and not used). Discard 1 card from your hand to destroy 1 of your opponent's cards on the Field. * A moderatly expensive deck to build. * Requires a lot more strategy than other decks. Cons: * MST and all the other mass M/T killers pwn this archtype * If XYZ Dragon Cannon is destroyed, it cannot return to the current duel. * IO is not a card you want to have played on you. * If you can't get your Unions out, you can be really be a sitting duck * Requires a lot more strategy than other decks. Amazoness: Relys on effect monsters with the word Amazoness in thier names. An Amazoness deck will use a lot of low attack monsters backed with strong effects and other traditional warrior cards. Pros: * CHEAP!!!!! At least it should be. * Each Amazoness has an effect that supports the other Amazonesses (for the most part). * WOW! Lots of extremly useful female cards. * This archtype alone may draw more female players into the game. * Really strong effects. * Warriors. * Witch/Sangan/Freed/Renforcments of the Armyable. * Every Amazoness is level 4 or lower. * FAST! Cons: * Weak stats. * Not much M/T support. * Relys on a lot of monsters being out on the field. * A little chancy. * Relys on mostly only Amazoness monsters being out. Black Paladin: A Black Paladin deck relys on getting out the Black Paladin Fusion. If you can't get the fusion out, you do have a few strong Spellcasters to fall back on. Pros: * All most all of the monsters that you would use in this deck will be Spellcasters. * Foucuses on a very good Fusion: SUPER MAGICAL SWORDSMAN - BLACK PALADIN Dark/Magic User/8/2900/2400 (Fusion) [Dark Magician] + [Buster Blader] This Monster can only be Special Summoned by a Fusion. While this card is face-up on the Field, you may discard 1 card from your hand to negate and destroy a Magic activation. Increase this Monster's attack strength by 500 for each Dragon Sub-Type Monster on the Field and in each player's Cemetery. * Has a lot of monsters with good effects. Cons: * Focuses on a single card. * Fusions are hard to get out. * Has 2 monsters with very high levels. * Effects are useless if you can't get out Black Paladin. * Once Black Paladin dies, it is dead forever. * Needs Poly. Sorry that was so long, but I wanted to get all the facts. Personally, I think the best out of the 3 is the Amazoness archtype. It already has all of the support it needs to be successful in tournaments. If you want to see what the cards do, then go to Edo's Duel Monster Page at www.stormpages.com/edhrzic/Yugioh.htm Thats where I get my translations, and you should too.
