Subject: A Game for the rich? A game for the Newbies? - Da Dark Rula


This Is my first thing on pojo and I would like it posted.



This isn t for bashing anyone, just a thing that I ve noticed over the 
months of playing this game.



For a while, I ve seen people say that Yu-Gi-Oh has become a game for the 
rich and spoiled, like me.  Not really.

See, a get paid for cutting the lawn when ever I do for $20.  So basically, 
I have to pay for the tournaments which are $6 dollars.

Leaving me with $14, I have to buy my OWN cards with my OWN money.  Usually 
only 2-3 packs depending on price.

Now every week, I seem somehow to pull a random ultra rare from the packs 
that I buy.  Guess what I hear, Oh, you must be rich to always get ultra 
rares.   Then when I pulled Gemini Elf from only two packs, I heard the 
same thing the whole time I was at the tourney.  Now I don t but singles 
like most people who are obsessed with the game do and I own well over 100 
foil cards and 29 in my deck.  I go up against kids who pre-order boxes, 
singles and packs and smoke them like they were amateurs.  My point is that 
people who don t spend hundreds on cards can be just as good, if not better 
than those who do.  Like me!!

Anyway, newbies are human beings too.  So if you see them coming into 
stores buying all the power pack cards in the game doesn t mean you have to 
complain.  Most of them I ve come across can t play that well anyway, so I 
don t care.  I just get sweet trades, YEA!!!!!!  But still, people like us 
who have been playing for a long time should be a little nicer to the 
beginners of the game.  Now that I m finished being nice, it s really 
annoying seeing these kids whose parents are filthy rich and but these kids 
cards.  I ve seen more newbies than actual people with experience at 
tourneys!!  And most of them make beatdowns!  I can beat them, but still, 
it s kinda boring and after I lose in the tourney against real players, I 
trade the newbies all of the basic cards they forget about because all the 
really see is the major combos that some of us pull of with those ultra 
rares.  I trade them like some of those rares like pot of greed, sangan, 
witch, or like CYBER JAR!!  For crying out loud, who would forget about a 
cyber jar???  All I m saying is despite the fact that we always see these 
kids running around with basically 50 and 100 dollar bills in their deck 
boxes, we should treat them the same way we want to be treated.  It s just 
a game and we should enjoy it while It lasts, okay???
