When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, you lose 5000 Life Points. Many of you see this and shutter, thinking this horrible card is going to make you lose 2000 LP. But in reality, it's only a bad card when used incorrectly. With the release of recent decks, I personally find The Immortal of Thunder to be a free ride to gaining 3000 LP. The trick is, DON'T send it to the graveyard! Bypass the graveyard! A card like Banisher of the Light comes in very handy here. Just play the card in face down defence with banisher on the field. Adding Chorus of Sanctuary is also helpful since the defence of Banisher increases to 2500, something that your opponent probably can't atk and destroy. The defence of The Immortal of Thunder will also increase to 1800 and will be enough to prevent any and all 1800 monster ATKs(preventing most beatdowns from hurting you). Then again, at the cost of 2 monster cards from your hand you can play the even more dreaded Darkness Approaches. With Darkness Approaches, you can now use it's effect once again. Even if for some reason you play the card wrong and have to send it to the graveyard, your still gaining 1000 LP. In the last 2 and a half weeks that i've been playing this combo, not once has it failed me. If you find any flaws in my theory, don't bother me with it. This deck requires time and skill to construct. It took me a while to be able to use Banisher in the proper way. There are alot more combos to this card, but I don't like revealing all my stratagies.
