Subject: two cents for gaming(rant but not quite)- Lee I don't know if this is going to be posted, hope it does, i saw some pretty elementary stuff up. I have been playing Yu Gi Oh since Sept of 2002. Before that, I was a hardcore MTG addict and junkie. Anyone that knows the rules for both games are aware that the rules are so similar, it can be argued they are the same. As a result, I was a bit of a sharper player than some of the more seasoned Yu Gi Oh players. There have been quite a few blunders that could have been easily avoided. One really simple rule is to watch what your opponent is doing. For example, if you killed their Sangan/Witch and they search out Cyber Jar, please don't play your hard hitters like Summoned Skull, Jinzo, Barrel Dragon, etc. Seems like common sense but I saw many players lose control of the board. Something else to keep in mind is to be constantly aware of what is in the graveyard. This means either memorize the graveyard or look at it every so often, so your opponent won't know when exactly you'll play monster recursion. I don't know about you people out there, but I feel better if the opponent knows as little about me as possible. Memorizing takes a bit of time to develop so stick with the second tip for now. This topic is more for newbies but the experienced are welcome to listen. It's about Magics/Traps -big sigh- Repeated over and over, yet the mistake is recurring. Magics are not meant for setting. The only time Magics should be set is when Imperial Order is out on the field and your hand is way too big, and/or its a Quick Play Magic. As for Call of the Haunted, DO NOT SET IT if you have no dead things in your graveyard. Finally, if your opponent used up three or more of his/her M/T zones, don't worry about Heavy Storms and set your Traps, please. Again, common sense, yet very stupid. Waste your time? Helped?
