Here are some tips on how to make use of the card Spiritualism: 
Though, #4 and over is combinding Spiritualism with Japanese cards 
#1 Spiritualism + Card Destruction use spiritualism to return a 
card like imperial order/anything lethal then use card destruction.

#2 Spiritualism + Confiscation
Use spiritualism to return [something] and use confiscation to 
destroy the card.

#3 Spiritualism + White Magical Hat
Use the WMH to get rid of the card you sent to your oponent's hand.

#4 Spiritualism + Don Zaruug[Earth/Warrior/4/1400/1500/When this 
monster does battle damage to your opponent's life points chooseone 
of the following effects: -Your opponent discards one card at random
from his or her hand. -Your opponent discards the top two cards of his 
or her deck] + Fairy Meteor Crush/Raigeki/Harpie's Feather Duster: 
Spiritualise a card, then use cards which destroy cards on the opponent's 
side of the field, then use Don Zaruug to attack the opponent's life 
points and discard the Spiritualised card.

#5 Spiritualism + Toon Gemeni Elves [Light/Spellcaster/4/1900/900/This
monster cannot attack the turn it is summoned. If your Toon World card is 
destroyed, so is this card. If you have a Toon World on the field and your 
opponent has no Toon Monsters on the field, this monster may attack your 
opponent's life points directly. If this monster inflicts battle damage 
to your opponent's life points your opponent must discard one card at 
random from his/her hand] Use the Toon Gemeni Elf to destroy the card 
that was reurned to their hand.
