Well, I figured Id review both Snatch Steal and the Upstart Goblin at the 
same time, since they both have a similar effect that you can use to your 
advantage, especially in 6-9 months.

Snatch Steal is a lovely little equip magic card that allows you to steal 
one of your opponents face-up creatures on the field.  The 'downside' is that your opponent 
will gain 1000 life during each of their 
Standby Phases so long as it remains in play.  For the current environment, 
thats usually a bad thing.  Not a very long list of stuff to do with this 
card... its pretty straightforward.  You could steal something of your 
opponent, smack them with it, then kill the equip card, then Fissure that 
very same monster... but 4 cards for a few thousand damage isnt that great.

That process would be Steal - Attack - Storm/Cyclone - Fissure in that 
order.

Anyways, on to the Upstart Goblin and some very evil stuff.  You get 1 card, 
your opponent gains 1000 life.  Currently, not all that great and deserving 
of the rating it gets.  So why would it become restricted to 1 per deck in 
Japan you say... well it is NOT because of the drawing power.  THAT is 
secondary otherwise Toon Masked Sorcerer would be restricted or something.

The real reason for its restriction comes 6-9 months from now like I said... 
Mythological Age.  There is a very key common card in MA that gives this 
card, and any card that gives your opponent life, a lot of power.  That card 
is called Drug Reaction, it is a Continuous Trap Card that reverses all the 
life gains for your opponent only.

Im not sure if you can see where this is leading, but Ill demonstrate:

Snatch Steal + DR = You take their monster and they LOSE 1000 life per 
Standby Phase.

Upstart Goblin + DR = You draw a card, they LOSE 1000 life.

Add in a few future cards that I can think of off hand...

Blessed Rain(hopefully next set) + DR = Both players gain 1000, or rather, 
YOU get 1000, and they LOSE 1000.

The Eye of Truth (Yugi/Pegasus structue + Mythological Age card) + DR = You see their hand, i
f they have any Magic cards, then instead of gaining 
1000 life per standby phase, they lose 1000.

You can see how a deck centered around these kinds of Direct Damage combos 
could sap an opponents life within a few turns.  So, on to the ratings for 
these cards.

Snatch Steal:
Currently 4.2, when MA comes out 4.7.

The Upstart Goblin:
Currently 2.0, when MA comes out 3.5.  I only give it 3.5 even when Drug 
Reaction is around because it requires DR in order to actually get the 
proper use out of it.

Well, thats been another review more me that I hope has been somewhat 
educational and opened up a few players minds just a bit.
