The guardian tip doesn't work. And here's why.

The Gate Guardian has to be first special summoned by sacrificing an in play Kazejin, Suijin, and Sanga. Then if the monster is killed you can use Monster Reborn. Konami of Japan made the ruling on the cards that had a requirement to summon such as Gate Guardian, or Great Moth. They have to be summoned using the method on the monster cards before they are able to be reborn with monster reborn. This ruling is official i learned it at Edo's Yugioh Rulings Page.

I can think of a way to do good damage using a reborn Gate Guardian. 1st summon the three needed monsters, then sacrifice them. (This is costly though) to summon the Gate Guardian. Then use a dark hole or something to kill the GG and the opponents monsters. (It isn't very useful but is a combo that works none the less) Then bring the GG back using Monster Reborn.

Although if your foe summoned GG the right way you can Revive it on your side after you kill it. (It isn't worth using this combo in a tourney though, maybe just playing a friend at home.)
