Xtone's Top 10 Bad Effect Changes This is my list of cards that had a different effect in the anime that never should of been changed when they became real cards. =============================== 01. Silent Doom =============================== Silent Doom Spell Card Special Summon one Normal Monster from your Graveyard in Defense Position. That monster cannot attack. ---------------------------------- In the anime, this card can special summon any monster, not just the normal ones and that is how the real one should also work. =============================== 02. Thousand Dragon =============================== Thousand Dragon Wind/Dragon/Fusion/7/2400/2000 Time Wizard + Baby Dragon ---------------------------------- For Joey to summon this monster, he needs Baby Dragon on the field and to use Time Wizard's effect. Since in the card game, you need to use Time Wizard's effect to summon Dark Sage, it should be the same for Thousand Dragon. =============================== 03. Sword Hunter =============================== Sword Hunter Earth/Warrior/Effect/7/2450/1700 A monster destroyed by this card as a result of battle becomes an Equip Spell Card at the end of the Battle Phase that increases the ATK of this card by 200 points. ---------------------------------- This monster should still get the extra 200 ATK points for each monster it destroys in battle but the destroyed monsters shouldn't be equipped to it. =============================== 04. Card of Sanctity =============================== Card of Sanctity Spell Card Remove all cards in your hand and on your side of the field from play. Draw cards until you have 2 cards in your hand. ---------------------------------- We don't need another bad "draw extra cards" card. Letting both players draw until they have 6 cards in their hand would of made this card more playable. This could either help you or it could help your opponent. =============================== 05. Magic-Arm Shield =============================== Magic-Arm Shield Trap Card When your opponent calls an attack, select one monster on your opponent's field to use as the attacking monster's target instead on your monsters. (not the exact wording) ---------------------------------- This trap makes the opponent attack there own monster, so the opponent should take the Life Point damage and not the person who activated this card. =============================== 06. Granadora (Swallowtail Spike Lizard) =============================== Granadora Water/Reptile/Effect/4/1900/700 When this monster is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned, or Special Summoned successfully, increase your Life Points by 1000 points. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard you take 2000 points of damage. ---------------------------------- The way Marik used it is that it increases the player's Life Points by 1000 if it's in defense mode during the player's Standby Phases. =============================== 07. King's Knight =============================== King's Knight Light/Warrior/Effect/4/1600/1400 If "Queen's Knight" is on the field when you Normal Summon this monster, Special Summon "Jack's Knight" from your deck. (not exact wording) ---------------------------------- If the effect can work when it's either Normal Summoned or Special Summoned, then that would make this monster with Queen's Knight, and Jack's Knight a little more playable. =============================== 08. Spellbinding Circle =============================== Spellbinding Circle Trap Card / Continuous Select 1 monster. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, the selected monster cannot attack or change its battle position. When the selected monster is destroyed, this card is also destroyed. ---------------------------------- Was there a reason to remove the part that takes 700 ATK points away from the selected monster. ============================= 09. Mystical Beast of the Serket ============================= Mystical Beast of the Serket Earth/Fairy/Effect/6/2500/2000 If you don't have "Temple of the Kings" active on your field, this monster is destroyed. If this monster destroys a monster as a result of battle, the destroyed monster is removed from play and increase this monster's ATK by 500 points. (not exact wording) ---------------------------------- I know this monster was very powerful in the anime but it was also very difficult to summon. To summon it, Temple of Kings had to be on active on the field when Cup of Seal Soul and Seal of Serket was activated together in a chain. In the anime, this monster's ATK would increase by half of the ATK of the monster it destroyed in battle. ============================= 10. Dragon Capture Jar / Dragon Piper ============================= Dragon Capture Jar Continuous Trap Card As long as this card remains face-up on the field, all face-up Dragon-Type monsters are changed to Defense Position and cannot change their Battle Position. Dragon Piper Fire/Pyro/Effect/3/200/1800 FLIP: Destroy "Dragon Capture Jar", and change all face-up Dragon-Type monsters to Attack Position. ---------------------------------- The name of this card is Dragon Capture Jar, but it doesn't even capture a dragon like it does in the anime. This card should destroy or remove from play at lease one dragon-type monster on the opponent's field.
