chuk's top ten booster sets

This is a ranking of the Yu-Gi-Oh booster sets

1. Legacy of Darkness- The best set for many reasons.

It strengthens a variety of decks. LOD has changed the

whole game and the way people play it. Unfortunately,

the banned list will make many LOD rares unplayable.

Other than that it has some awesome card concepts and effects.

Notable cards: Fiber Jar, Yata, IFL, Marauding Captain,

Spear Dragon, Exiled Force, Dark Ruler Ha Des, Drop Off

2. Magic Ruler- Focuses mainly around magic cards.

A lot of the magic and monsters have good effects.

MRL definitely impacted the game a lot in several ways.

The secret rares suck, but many cards make up for it.

Notable cards: MST, Delinquent Duo, Confiscation,

Forceful Sentry, Cyber Jar, Mystic Tomato, Snatch

Steal

3. Invasion of Chaos- The newest installment to come

out. It brings new chaos and beast monsters. This set

even has some useful rares. IOC has some really

sought out cards that are used commonly in decks.

This is a set you wouldn't want to miss.

Notable cards: BLS- Envoy of the Beginning, Chaos

Emperor Dragon, Dark Magician of Chaos, D.D

Designator, Reload, Berserk Gorilla (2000 atk rare),

4. Pharaonic Guardian- PGD has the coolest theme to

any set. Zombies and gravekeepers get a lot of support

now. This set has a lot of versatile cards that have two

effects or are multi-purpose. PGD introduced many

game-breaking tournament cards. That is why it is #4.

Notable cards: Ring of Destruction, Spirit Reaper,

Don Zaloog, Mirage of Nightmare, Book of Moon,

Raigeki Break

5. Magician's Force- This one brings a lot of new

spellcasters and machines. It introduces union and

fusion monsters. Even though they aren't used, the

other really good cards make up for that. Overall, it

was an interesting set.

Notable cards: Breaker the Magical Warrior, Amazoness

Swords Woman, Tribe-Infecting Virus, XYZ cards,

Skilled Dark & White Magicians, Magical Scientist,

Dark Core,

6. Pharaoh's Servant- Pharaoh's Servant focuses on

traps, which make up about half of the set. This set

has unbelievably overpowered cards. The downside is

that you will have to buy these on their own, because

PSV is retired and it is hard to get these cards.

Notable cards: Jinzo, Imperial Order, Call of the Haunted,

Ceasefire, Goblin Attack Force, Thousand Eyes Restrict,

Buster Blader, Magic Drain

7. Labyrinth of Nightmare- Was the hottest thing when it

came out. It was extremely popular and had plenty of

strong monsters. With the release of future sets and card

rulings, LON lost its momentum. There a couple of cards

that are still widely used in tournaments.

Notable cards: Magic Cylinder, Torrential Tribute, Kycoo

the Ghost Destroyer, Fire Princess, Gemini Elf (the first 1900),

Dark Necrofear, Mage Power, United We Stand,

8. Dark Crisis- DCR was so anticipated, because people thought

it would be so great. It was a disappointment. Only a couple of

cards from DCR are used and the rest suck donkey. The problem

with Dark Crisis is that there is such a huge chance you'll get

something bad. A lot of the cards are ridiculously hard to pull off

or find use for. Besides V-Lord and others, this set didn't do much.

Notable cards: Vampire Lord, D.D. Warrior Lady, Archfiend Soldier,

Great Maju Garzett, Exodia Necross

9. Metal Raiders- An awesome set with some of the best monster

effects ever. However, most of these cards are commons elsewhere.

There are still some singles worth buying. This is #9, because it is an

outdated set. It was a HUGE leap from the set at #10.

Notable cards: Mirror Force, Heavy Storm, Catapult Turtle, Solemn

Judgement, Barrel Dragon ( cause, it's awesome), other staples are

common

10. Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon- The first set ever to come out.

You will never pull anything good out of these packs. Avoid buying these.

Notable cards: Exodia and Raigeki

I may not have included every card in the sets, but that is my opinion.

When Ancient Sanctuary comes out, I will wonder where to put it. Until then,

we have these sets to buy cards from.

Any disagreements? Any comments?
