Naito the Shinobi's Yu-Gi-Oh Top 10 List - Top 10 Most Currently Underrated Cards #10. Magician of Faith ---------------------- If any of you have been is this game long enough, you'll remember that Magician of Faith was considered to be a staple in every Deck. With the onslaught of cards that are anti-flip these days, MoF has long since joined the ranks of monsters deemed "unplayable" due to the simple fact that it is a Flip-Effect Monster. Yet with the Envoys running rampant, I'm surprised that this LIGHT Attribute monster is not used more. Definately a monster that should see more play, regardless of its Flip-Effect status. #9. Dark Coffin --------------- This Trap Card has one of the most damaging effects for a Common I've ever seen, but no one uses it. Why is that? DC's effect can only be activated when it is destroyed while face-down on the field. It may not seem like a big setback at first, but you would be amazed at how many people are unwilling to use a Heavy Storm or Mystical Space Typhoon on it. The ever-present Jinzo also contributes to this card's lack of play. #8. Raigeki Break ----------------- Another underrated Trap Card from Pharaonic Guardian. Simply put, the "destroy any card on the field" effect of Raigeki Break is incredible. It's monster and Spell/Trap removal all in one card. However, the discarding cost scares away potential users with Yata-Garasu still occupying alot of Decks. I find the discarding effect to be a plus, actually. Decks using any of the Envoys or Dark Necrofear will know what I'm talking about. #7. Great Maju Garzett ---------------------- The anticipation of this card before Dark Crisis came out was insane. The fact that this card is only a Rare made the hype even bigger. Then Dark Crisis came out and GMG had immediately found a place in everyone's... shoebox. Huh? What went wrong? Vampire Lord, that's what. I don't question the annoyance factor of V-Lord, but I also don't question the obvious truth that GMG can be ridiculously huge. Getting a one-tribute 3800 ATK monster by simply tributing an Archfiend Soldier is amazing. It's drawback is that it has 0/0 stats when summoned in any way other than Tribute Summoning. #6. Bottomless Trap Hole ------------------------ The original Trap Hole on performance enhancers. I honestly don't know why not many people use this card. I suppose Torrential Tribute IS alot better, but can Torrential Tribute remove a Vampire Lord or an Envoy of the Beginning from play? A small edge but an edge nonetheless. #5. Lesser Fiend ---------------- Better than D.D Crazy Beast, yet not nearly as versatile as D.D. Warrior Lady. Still, I think Lesser Fiend is a highly underrated tribute monster. Its 2100 ATK will overpower Vampire Lord, its remove from play effect works well against Chaos, and Archfiend Decks can use it to its full potential since Lesser Fiend is considered an Archfiend. If Lesser Fiend is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard with Pandemonium in play then you can search for almost any other Archfiend in your Deck due to Lesser Fiend's five level stars. #4. Exchange ------------ A Spell Card that is very rarely seen or even spoken of. While a little difficult to find, Exchange can be extremely useful when used at the right moment (when you have nothing but weaker monsters in your hand or when your hand is small). Exchange is also the ultimate Exodia slayer. Use Exchange to pick an Exodia piece, leave it in your hand for the rest of the Duel, and your opponent will never assemble Exodia. #3. Dark Magician ----------------- Alone it is absolutely horrible. With support, your opponent will learn to fear it. I cannot begin to explain to you how powerful Yugi's signature monster will be in the future and he's not half bad right now. Skilled Dark Magician, Dedication Through Light and Darkness, and Thousand Knives can make Dark Magician a very formidable monster. It will gain a major boost when the Ancient Sanctuary expansion is released, which contains a "Harpie's Feather Duster" for Dark Magician. #2. Book of Moon ---------------- My favorite Quick-Play Spell Card in the entire game, even more-so than Mystical Space Typhoon. Book of Moon is an incredibly versatile card that can stop an opponent's monster's attack, serve as effective monster removal, and work in unison with Flip-Effects. Never doubt its usefulness until you see it for yourself. Simply amazing. And finally... #1. Solemn Judgment ------------------- The most underrated card in the game and the ultimate "save your posterior" card, in my opinion. What obviously makes Solemn Judgement an underrated card is the cost of paying half of your Life Points to activate it. But think about this for a moment: we are at a point in the game where one-turn victories are not just common, they're constant. Solemn Judgement is the only card that can negate virtually any threat of a one-turn defeat. Also, the cost is dramatically decreased near the end of the duel which is when it should be played (this is also when one-turn victories are most likely to happen). To make a long story short, Solemn Judgment's cost is worth it these days. Contact Info: Naito the Shinobi nathanntupper@yahoo.com
