Ben's top ten monsters for theme decks

Here is my list for the top ten monsters used in theme decks:

10) Dark necrofear: I know alot of people out there will be cringing at the fact this card ranks so low.  The reason for that is it doesn't work with other fiends, it needs the other fiends to work.  I used to have a deck that had a few fiends and this guy, and he just did noit get much action.  Aside from the summoning requirements though, a 2200/2800 special summoned monster is nothing to laugh at, and has a built in Snatch steal when its destroyed.  I personally just used him for defense, because with the giant orcs and goblins out there, everybody knows about the snatch steal effect and a kamikaze with an orc seems mighty fine and a goblin will kill it, but you would just take over a defense position goblin :(

9) Tyrant dragon: Why would tyrant dragon beat the necrofear you ask?  Well, personally because of his graveyard summoning requirements.  A 2 tribute monster that negates traps designating it and can attack twice with a 2900 attack certainly has one of my votes as the best two tribute monster.  And if you run a dragon deck, you will be the only to special summon him from your graveyard, considering there aren't too many dragon cards that support themselves (except for the luster dragon, but that iusn't too abundant).  Plus, the lord of dragons and his flute make it easy to bring him out.

8) Spirit Ryu:  I just like him.  You have the capacity to power him up to 6000 in one turn, although that won't happen often, but just discarding one card can give him a 2000 attack, which is unmatched by practically anything.  A good combo would be to summon him, discard a tyrant dragon to power him up, attack, and then reborn the tyrant dragon, sacrificing your Spirit Ryu.  Just helps you, because a 1000 attacker left out on the feild is bad in practically every way.....

7) Skilled dark magician: Now this is getting really into just a specific theme deck: The Dark Magician.  However, this guy just makes it so much easier.  a 1900 4 star is excellent in its own right, and I would use it even if I don't have a Dark magician.  But, if three magic cards are activated, thern you get to special summon a Dark Magician, which really helps out those people who have trouble getting out those two monsters to tribute, and I you have not drawn it yet.

6) Paladin of white dragon: Now there will be alot of controversy over why this card ranked higher than the skilled dark, But I think its better in every way.  Same attack, but its a special summon with a ritual, and built in Sasuke samurai effect, and you don't have to wait until any other card is activated in order to special summon a Blue eyes.  Although the Blue eyes cannot attack that turn, I just use it for the Sauke samurai effect and then use it as the tribute in the second main phase.

5) XYZ dragon cannon and his mates: I love this kind of deck.  These guys are great for either a union deck or a machine deck or even better- those two mixed together.  In a union deck just use frontline base to special summon a union type in that turn.  Spelt out: Use it to summon either the Y dragon head or the Z metal tank, play another one of them and either fuse them or just put them into a union.  In a machine deck, obvious combos of getting out the XYZ or whatever, discarding cards from your hand to get rid of the opposing monsters and then use limter removal to power it up extremely to attack directly (2 limiters= 11 200 attack).

4) Freed the matchless general and the maurauding captain: These two guys are excellent in warrior decks.  Use the old combo of summong a marauding and then another one, and your opponent cannot attack that turn.  Then on your next turn, sacrfice one for freed, and they still cannot attack freed.  freeds searching technique is excellent, because then you can get out something like exiled force or the goblins to smash through someones defence....

3) Pyramid turtle: Okay, let us just pretend that there are high attacking tribute monsters that are zombie types, like a summoned skull.  Imagine the look on your opponents face when they attack a face down card and you summon a zombie with a 2500 attack or you summon one of the best cards in this game: The vampire lord.  The mystic tomato and cards like that may not be as specific as the turtle, but because it says DEF. and the limitation is 2000, This card is a must-have for zombie decks.  If they release a 2400 attacker one sacrifice and its a zombie in the future (they seem to just be doing that with all the other types) Zombie decks, and this card, may see alot more play.

2) The lord of dragons and the flute:  Must I explain?  Giving all your dragons a heart of the clear water and also giving hium the combination with the flute to bring out two more monsters, regardless of attack/defence,he is a must have for dragon decks.

1) Pinch hopper: Yes, a pinch hopper takes it out.  Why?  Because, it is like a witch of the black forest effect, and then you can summon an insect type from your hand with no limitations.  Good for stalling, bringing out a strong monster (summon - dark hole - attack directly) and works in so many different combos involvong insects.  Just think: When they release some half decent sacrifce insect-types, this card will be a god to those decks.

Well, thats my list for great theme-based monsters.  I know I missed the Dark ruler Ha Des, But I didn't relly want to delete one and type out why he is so good.  I think he would have gotten 6.  Cheers.
